Need better organization
Zdzislaw Kon 18/11/2017 23:33I stayed for 3 nights, of which for 2 days the room was not cleaned and no towels were changed. The towels were replaced only before the day of departure, after my visit at reception. The lady at the reception kindly apologized for the situation.
Needs a freshen up
948darranpon 18/11/2017 11:13Rooms could do with a bit of a touch up, nothing serious just a few bits and pieces looking tired knocked or scuffed.
Room was clean, bed was comfortable and overall not bad value for the price. If Ibis spent a little now it would be well spent before further deteriation sets in/
another wonderful visit
I6363RVdavidkon 18/11/2017 09:17we have been to this hotel at various times of the year for almost 10 years ,the staff from the manager Kate to all the rest of the staff( we now class as good friends) are so freindly, we are at ease when we arrive and they go the extra mile if anybody have any issues The hotel is always spotlessly clean and tidy all through the property and it is just the right distance for Swansea city centre..
Definitely Recommended
SollyWMon 16/11/2017 21:22The first thing to remember is, as a number of other reviewers have said, that this is a 'budget' hotel. So if you're after the full set of amenities, then you're going to have to spend a bit more. But if you accept that, then...
...this is one of the best Ibis hotels I've stayed in (and I'm now a Platinum Accor member). The hotel has a great location, plenty of free parking, and the staff are amazing. The rooms are indeed basic - I was certainly nonplussed by the laminate flooring in the bedroom, no carpet!! - but there is adequate space, and the beds are very comfy, I had two excellent nights sleep. The stand-out for me were the staff...the lad on Reception (can't remember his name, but wears spectacles and appears to be a local Welsh lad) was absolutely first rate, as indeed were all of his colleagues that I encountered, a local lady, a Spanish girl (Lucia, I believe), and the male cook. Their attentiveness was first rate, I couldn't fault them, and as is so often the case, the people make the place...unscrupulous capitalist employers beware, pay/ reward your staff properly, they are the lifeblood of your business!
I dined in the hotel both nights, the food was adequate/ good, and the alcoholic refreshments decently priced and excellent quality. I particularly recommend the local Tomos Watkin beer. Everything was efficient, and very, very polite. I would definitely recommend the car park side if possible, there is road noise from the other side, but if you want somewhere reliable and well priced - you really can't go wrong with this Ibis. As a seasoned traveller, please note - book with your eyes open, but if you do that, you won't be disappointed with this place.
Room cleanliness
waspies1on 15/11/2017 18:13Dropped something on floor that meant had to move 2 seat sofa which exposed a lot of dust, dirt & old sweets from previous occupants. Sink waste blocked so water took forever to run away. General room cleaning not usual standard. Reported all of this to reception first evening but nothing happened. Reported again at time of leaving.
