Friendly staff and peaceful stay

We stayed here for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly, even the room cleaners were so friendly in the mornings. The breakfast was very good, very large variety, friendly staff and freshly cooked omelettes to order.
I was worried about locating the hotel as we were driving there, but the GPS brought us straight to the door.
View from balcony was perfect!
We liked forward to coming back in the evening for the facilities.
Would stay again on next visit.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while exploring the beautiful area around Mittelberg and Oberstdorf. The staff who helped us during both check-in and check-out were friendly and spoke English. Our room was a good size and had a shared balcony which faced the back of the hotel. Because of the balcony, and because our room was also next to a housekeeping closet, we did hear some noise such as singing in the morning. But overall, the room and hotel were quite quiet.
After checking in, we weren't hungry enough for the fixed-price dinner at the hotel,so we instead walked a short distance up the hill to the Gasthof Alpenblick (recommended!). We also had a few drinks (drink coupons were given to us at check-in) in the mostly deserted hotel bar after we returned from dinner.
It's easy to walk in the area around the hotel due to paved paths and barely-traveled roads. We walked around twice in the short time we were there - the views of the mountains are STUNNING! It was especially neat to see the tops of the mountains turn pink from the setting sun. The setting is the best part of this hotel, in my opinion!
Breakfast in the morning was included - we had to ask a few servers for a table but were then shown to our own reserved table. Some of the servers were not friendly at all, while others were better. The buffet has a bit more selection than you see in other hotels. There is also an omelet station that I saw others take advantage of. Other amenities in the hotel that we did not have a chance to enjoy include an indoor pool and spa services.
I expected more but it was ok...

First of all I have to say the receptionist at the Hotel was very very kind and friendly! That was a big plus. The only other plus was the room, it was a bit old fashioned (the bedroom, especially in comparison with the very very modern bathroom) but it was ok and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. The bed was very comfortable too.
Now to the downside: what I found the worst was the staff in the restaurant. So unfriendly. They didn't even look at you when you came through the door, almost as if you were disturbing them by your presence. Also the way they almost talked down to us... Very unprofessional, rude and disrespectful.
The pool and the SPA area was ok. Not great but clean and well, ok.
Waste of time,money and holiday

We stayed in this hotel between 9-15 February 2013.The hotel is in the middle of nowhere.
The service in the hotel reception and restaurant is not friendly at all.Because the waiters never get a tip due to everything inclusive concept in the hotel. The food quality is low.The dinner finishes at 8.30 pm ! After the dinner there is only a non-attractive bar in the cellar. There is no elevator in all levels which can be a problem when you come with luggage. There is no real lobby only some chairs in a very dark corner. The nearest place is a small village called Mitelberg which is 1 km away where there is nothing other than a church and one 1-2 hotels. For skiing there is a bus which is only every 30 minutes between 9-12 am and 2-5 pm.The slopes around this area are very full with local austrian and german citizens and we waited around 1 hour 30 minutes to go up the hill to the skiing with cable cars.
