We wandered into Cripple Creek looking for a place to stay on a cold wet August afternoon. Looked around, saw a place on the top of a hill, turned around and found this place. Interesting old building, nice rooms, nice people great views! We stayed in a deluxe king on the second floor with a sun room over the front entrance. A great experience!
Quaint & Clean

Nice place to stay if you like vintage or want something different than the casino hotel experience.
Our room (#104) would fall within the category of the Deluxe Queen, I believe, as it seemed to be a little bit larger than some of the other rooms (that I peeked into). We found it to be quaint and clean. There was no room thermostat to control the heat and it was noticeably cold when we arrived. The lady who checked us in (who was nice, informative, and helpful) provided us with a portable space heater which we absolutely needed. Without it, it would have been too cold for us (bearable but uncomfortable). The room has windows that overlook the front of the hotel which provides a nice view down to the Main Street. We had no issue with noise (creaking floor boards) or incoming hall light in this room.
Parking is available behind and to the west of the hotel. It will fill up if they are 100% booked but there is street parking as well.
The Continental breakfast is typical fare. A couple of people mentioned using their Bronco Billy's 1/2 off meal coupon (given at check in) for breakfast, so there is that option if you want something more substantial.
Overall, a nice place to stay.
Hotel St. Nicholas in Cripple Creek

Hotel St. Nicholas is a great place to stay, especially if you like vintage era decor and staying in historic buildings. Comfortable with a great staff. Breakfast was good though not outstanding. There is a hot tub off the second floor which has a great view of the eastern part of Cripple Creek and some rolling hills.

This is a small hotel that has the history of being an old Catholic Hospital run be the Sisters of Mercy. The hotel is clean and comfortable.
Morning breakfast was included with the room. There was a selection of cereals, fruit, yogurt breakfast rolls, coffee and tea.
The staff very friendly and helpful.
The. Hotel has a popular bar - Boiler Room. Met many of the residents there and they were very informative about the history of the hotel and Cripple Creek.
This hotel as well as many buildings in Cripple Creek is noted to be haunted. Sadly the two ghosts did not visit us during our three-day stay.
Because it is an old building, they do not have an elevator. If you cannot manage stairs this would not be the place for you. Rooms are located on the second and third floors.
Great little hotel

My wife and I stayed there and found it to be a great place to get away from the noise and bustle of the casino hotels. The hotel was originally a hospital constructed in 1898 by the Catholic Church to service the gold camps of Cripple Creek and Victor it operated into the 1970s and was renovated and turned into a hotel several years ago retaining much of its Victorian decor. Our stay was very comfortable and even included a visit by the burros which roam free in town. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
