Came to Santa Cruz to visit my sister at UCSC and absolutley loved this place! comfy beds, great location, and best of all amazing service! had a few issues checking in but was helped by an awesome worker named Alan
will definitley be my go to santa cruz hotel

We've been comin to the Inn for three years as our daughter is a student at UCSC. When she fell ill the staff at the Inn went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed as we settled in for a week long stay. The newly renovated rooms are amazing! The heating/air conditioner is quiet and efficient, and the rooms are nicely equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. Housekeeping service was prompt and thorough. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The location is very easy to get to, and it is safe and quiet.

The facility is a few minutes outside of Santa Cruz (depending on the traffic 3 miles down the road) and is nestled in the Tall trees. The signage from the Freeway is for the exit not the Inn. once on the off-ramp the inn is just to your right.
The lobby has the traditional stone fireplace, a bar & grill, and a large meeting / event space attached. They also have a heated pool and outdoor wedding chapel.
There are 3 main room groupings (that I saw) We were first assigned to room 103. It is part of the motel that is not updated yet. the climate control consists of ceiling and box fans. Being close to the Pacific ocean that is normally not a problem. The day we stayed the temp was in the high 80's and preparing for a wedding with a box fan is less than desired.
After sunset the temperature dropped to the 60's and the box fan started to fix the temperature in the room. That created a different problem, there was a smell of sewer or septic outside the property, which was promptly sucked into the room by the box fan. After a trip to the desk, we were moved to room 315 which was one of the updated rooms with air conditioning.
The facility seems cared for, but having only stayed one night, I can't say if the upgrades are progressing or if they are stalled. There was a large outside Deck area overlooking the wedding venue, but most was blocked off with signage stating closed for repairs. It was a Saturday but I did not see signs of active work being in process.
All rooms are parking lot level, so non air conditioned rooms will either be hot or you will need to leave you window open.

We knew we wanted to get out of the city and down the coast at the end of our San Francisco trip. So glad we did and so glad we picked this place to stay. They were so attentive starting with a confirmation call the day before to say they were excited to welcome us. Who does that?! Also upgraded to one of the newly remodeled rooms with air conditioning. Large and roomy for 4 of us. Huge shower. Basin sink. Big comfy beds and a huge TV. Free Wi-Fi, parking and pastries/coffee in the morning were the icing on the cake. They were so helpful and the pool was very nice. The lounge chairs there were new and fresh towels placed on them. Again...very attentive to details. They're clearly redesigning to be a wedding venue. Have a nice area for that and large meeting rooms for events. Nice bar which we didn't use but looked in. And on the golf course there which we drove around. Beautiful landscaping too. We'd stay here again in a heart beat!

I would give the Inn an excellent rating except for the fact the rooms aren't air conditioned. We didn't need it during our visit but I know some people must have a/c The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.
