What I can say about this hotel, will never do it justice. We were here for our honeymoon and this hotel is the epitome of luxury, relaxation, and comfort. We stayed in one of the on water bungalows, which was like something out of Hollywood. The rooms were spacious comfortable and the coffee table which doubled as a view to the sea below was an amazing touch. As a spot for those looking for romance, stop searching this is it. Nothing I have experienced has ever come this close. The only down is that it was so good nothing will ever match it in my opinion. We organised several trips with the hotel. Each one was better than the last. Their local knowledge was second to none. They told us what to see and do to make the most of our stay. To put it simply.... this is what a honeymoon is supposed to be!!!!

My husband and I chose the Le Moana for our stay in Bora Bora as we wanted to be on the mainland versus a motu. It was lovely!! All of staff were friendly and courteous, the grounds were beautiful, the water was spectacular, and the overwater bungalow was just amazing!!
There were a few hiccups, though, that prevent me from giving this place a five star review.
1. Unlike its counterparts in Moorea and the IC Thalasso on the motu, there are no fitness activities outside of water sports. No gym, no tennis court, no paths for walking. Although we knew that in advance, the fact does detract from its level of luxury.
2. The buffet breakfast was smaller and less sumptuous than at other IC resorts. At times, they ran out of fruit and croissants by 7:15–and the buffet doesn’t close until 10:30! I brought this to the attention of the staff, but to no avail. They often seemed to be short staffed at breakfast, so it could be just a matter of not having the people to replenish certain dishes. The food was delicious, though!
3. It was often noisy! This is certainly not the resort’s fault—and could have something to do with the fact that the schools were on a two week break at the time of our visit. However, the screaming of children 150 yards from the resort’s beach was not great and detracted from the relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Le Moana!!

the intercontinental le moana bora bora was truly spectacular!! the staff, and everyone on the island, for that matter, are so warm and caring. kindness and beauty is everywhere. we especially want to thank Leilani Nakano, and Vito (i am sorry i do not know his last name). their hospitality was spectacular, and we felt very at home. the overwater bungalow was beautiful! the water was pristine and clear. the daily breakfast was always great (the bread and pasteries were lovely- and the FRUIT!!!) LOVED HAVING FRESH COCONUTS AS SNACKS ON THE BEACH!!! we rented bicycles and rode to Viatape- the locals watch out for and safeguard the tourists. we felt very safe, and on the ride back we were blessed by a glorious rainfall!! a memory i will cherish forever. we booked a snorkel excursion, and swam with MANTA RAYS(!!!!!!!), and Eagle Rays. glorious!! rented a scooter and rode around the entire island. so beautiful. truly the pearl of the pacific. we stopped at every local market and bought crusty french bread, locally made coconut candy and cakes, and the most beautiful mangos, bananas, papayas, guavas, PASSION FRUIT, pineapples, and longans!!!! there was so much more, and i know we will be back to try more. matira beach and the beach at the hotel were among the most beautiful i've ever seen. lots to see. lots of sting rays, tiny crabs, and beautiful fish- parrot fish, puffers, chromis, urchins, damselfish, butterfly fish, angelfish, dacyllus, trigger fish, surgeon fish, wrasse, lion fish, boxfish, pipe fish, and CORAL!! the location of le moana was perfect. also must mention dining at the Lucky House. DELICIOUS!!!!

From the moment we arrived, we knew that we were exactly where we wanted to be. The bungalows are in very good condition, the food is delicious, the beach sand is so soft, the water is perfect for snorkeling, and the gentle breeze is comfortable and soothing.
There are lots of places to spend your days and nights in French Polynesia. So why choose Le Moana over all of the other hotels? What really sets this hotel apart from all other competitors is its staff. Everyone -- right up through Timi and Celine and Stephanie and GM Laurence -- constantly went out of their way to assure that our stay with them was perfect. They could not have been kinder, and their desire to please and to make each guest feel welcome was genuine. We could feel their happiness and sincerity in each interaction. Honestly, this friendliness made leaving their resort a struggle, as we knew that no one else could match their hospitality.
This resort is, in essence, an oasis. It is hard to imagine a better hotel. Yes, there are newer hotels. Yes, there are larger hotels. Yes, there are less (and much more!) expensive hotels. But you will not find a place which makes you feel more at home than Intercontinental Le Moana.
