The hotel is clean the beds are soft and it’s in close walking distance to the financial district. It’s also close walking distance to the Muni and the BART lines. Not very business friendly. I had to mail back some materials to the office and when I asked the concierge to include the prepaid envelopes in the outgoing mail he seemed perplexed . They even went so far as to suggest the request was confusing. Good hotel but but business friendly.

Not to be confused with the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins on Nob Hill (also a lovely place, have stayed there as well), The Intercontinental near Moscone Center is my go-to home away from home when I'm in SF. As long as I book early enough + there isn't a crazy event happening at Moscone Center. I'm always disappointed when this hotel is sold out or 4x the price.
What I love Most:
1. Corner-view Rooms with views of the Bay (swoon, when you can get them)
2. The best beds of any hotel I've stayed in to date (aside from the Kahala in Oahu)
3. Gracious and helpful Staff
4. Perfect Location
5. Great bar w/ attentive staff, strong drinks
6. Delicious Food, I've only eaten at the bar.. but Luce does not disappoint
What's there to say? I always look forward to my stay here. It feels like home.

Friendly staff, check in was quick and accommodating. Concierge very helpful with getting around the city. Really like the tip to join Hilton club and get free fairly fast WIFI.
The pool, which according to staff is 60 ft long is good for those who need to do laps. 68 for this visit. Pretty cold, but once you get going, you will be warm. Did not try the gym, ran outside, did the cable car route. Watch out for those hills, a little tough, but take you time. If you don't want the hotel breakfast, Mel's Diner is a good substitue and open24hrs. Maybe a 10 minute walk. Room was spacious and adequate. Would recommend this place highly.

My 10-year-old daughter and I stayed at the Intercontinental for a weekend in October to celebrate my 40th birthday. I booked a 1-bd king suite (mama needs her space, especially for her birthday). But it must be stated that the room rates for a basic hotel room are surprisingly reasonable, especially considering the location/quality of this property.
I was most impressed by the fact that while this is clearly a sleek, business-friendly and -focused hotel, every employee I encountered was welcoming and personable. My daughter and I felt very much at home and even cozy throughout our stay.
The hotel itself is very sleek and sumptuous, from the lobby bar down to the hallways on each floor. Our room (somehow we lucked out and got upgraded to a suite on the 31st floor with two balconies and a panoramic view of the bay and city) was spacious and so comfortable. Lovely bathroom, soft bed linens, everything you'd expect from a hotel of this caliber.
Room service was fast and the food was delicious (we ordered dinner and breakfast). The location of this hotel is very convenient if you want to do some shopping in Union Square or check out Yerba Buena Center or MOMA SF.
This has become my new go-to for an SF hotel, and I plan on recommending it to everyone I know looking to visit the city. Can't wait to return!

Certainly the location alone makes this a top convention hotel, but I stay here whether attending a conference or just doing business in the City. This property consistently delivers a great experience. The food is very good, the rooms are very nice with comfortable bedding that invites sleep, and the staff is professional, courteous and welcoming. Every interaction is pleasant and warm. If possible, pay for a room that provides access to the Club Lounge. The food offerings are expansive with a number of items to choose from for both breakfast and evening light dinner. That and the full bar make this a worthy investment. The property is nearly 10 years old and now runs like a well oiled machine, and in a very good way!
