We recently had multiple events involved with our wedding at the Inverary Inn this fall, including our rehearsal party, cocktail hour, dinner and reception, and everything was perfect! We had no idea where to start, but the event coordinator, Carolyn Hutchison, was amazing right from day one! She provided us with lots of information, not only about the Inverary's services, but local vendors (photo, cake, etc.), to help us make our day perfect! Our planning took just over a year, and we live a little distance from the Inverary, but there wasn't any barriers with communication, Carolyn's exceptional orginizational skills ensured our day was exactly how we pictured it. They were very flexible and accommodating throughout the entire process, including meetings and taste testing.
The food was spectacular! From the taste testings, to the rehearsal dinner, our guests raved about the food at the cocktail hour, and the main dinner was delicious, hot and a generous serving! They have a lot of choices, and are very aware and accommodating with food allergies and sensitivites.
We struggled with finding a decorator available for our date, so the Inverary were more than capable to do the job! When I dropped off our personal decor, the staff were confident in handling it! Which they did an incrediable job! The MacAulay Conference Centre is a beautiful venue.
The grounds are very well kept, and perfect for pictures! The groom and his groomsmen and family all got ready there the morning of the wedding. They all had a nice breakfast, and there was services for the women to get their hair and makeup done.
Our rehearsal party and cocktail hour were hosted in the Lakeside, which was newly renovated and overlooks the Baddeck Bay, a beautiful view!
Overall the experience with the Inverary was amazing!

After leaving Cape Breton Island and the Cabot Trail, we had a reservation at the Inverary Resort which was a convenient stop for us. The resort is in good location but is a little expensive. We had a room on the 2nd floor in the lodge and there is no elevator. Our room only had a queen bed but was comfortable. The room itself was large and nicely furnished. We decided to go down to the Thistledown Pub and try a local craft beer. Prices were a little expensive. After looking at the food menu, we decided to have dinner at the Baddeck Lobster Suppers which is next door and just a short walk through the resort. We did not have breakfast there we decided to stop in town and have a quick bite to eat.

Our family of three stayed at the Inverary Resort in September of 2017. Staff were welcoming. Our room was comfortable; however it was quite dated (carpet, sofa, and windows in need of an upgrade). The grounds were beautiful. The price of the room was steep considering its need of a renovation. I would book at Inverary Resort again if the price of a room was lower considering the rooms could use an upgrade.

We stayed in the main lodge. Room was comfortable, clean and well maintained, if a little dated. Triple sheet bedding, and fridge in room, which is nice. Good water pressure and lots of hot water. Walls are very thin and wifi is problematic.

We booked here because it was recommended to us by a few people. It was more expensive than places we usually stay, but we decided to treat ourselves since we were on vacation. We really wish we hadn't, we were very disappointed and will not be back!
Our room was tiny, and the bed was very hard. The pillows were also very hard, sleeping with a sweater under your head would have been way more comfortable.
The property itself was very big, very clean and really beautiful. Unfortunately a gorgeous property does not make up for a horrible room.
Our biggest issue was breakfast, it did not come with the room! We paid $200 to stay in a not good room and didn't even get breakfast out of the deal, many cheaper and nicer places we have gone to at least included a cold breakfast. We were informed that for breakfast it would be $15 a person. I have NEVER gone to any restaurant or any place and spent $15 on a breakfast for myself, I do not eat that much food to even make it worth it.
We will not be back. I will say one thing though, we ate supper at the pub on the property and they had the best tartar sauce I have ever tasted in my life!
