This has the feel of an old hotel that was somewhat remodeled. It also feels like it doesn't know if it's a family hotel or a business hotel. Of course it can be both if both are given 100%. There are parts that are beautiful such as the pool area and outdoor patio for the restaurant. And the gym is fantastic! We slept fine. Location is good if you like a sort of urban feel. We prefer being closer to the water than to the shopping mall. I can't put my finger on it but this hotel just has an odd feel in our opinion. Clearly many people love it. Read the reviews and decide if it might be right for you. I am definitely not giving it a two thumbs down.

Clean, comfortable and secure only walks away from Fashion Island. Many thanks to Sales Specialist Julia Bakhoum who offered a high quality service and great hospitality during our stay. She made every process from our booking to our check-in smooth and our stay enjoyable. Julia is a class act and very thoughtful by sending treats during the month of Ramadan.
I would have no hesitation in coming back for the third time or recommending booking through Julia.

We were heading up from San Diego to fly home from LAX so decided to stay in Newport for a couple of nights on our way. When we pulled up and saw all of the amazing cars parked outside we knew we were in for a treat. Check in was quick, the room was large, clean and lovely. The pool area was fantastic, comfy beds, a nice big pool and very attentive pool bar staff. The bar had a great happy hour, my only criticism here would be that the service was quite slow. We went across to fashion island for lunch both days as dinner one night which had some great places. On our final night we took and uber down to the beach for dinner. I would defiantly come back. Our only big problem was the cost of the valet parking! $35 a day is very steep when we only wanted somewhere to store the car.

I have been here a number of times on business. It works well if your business meetings are in Fashion Island. I have always had good experiences with the staff and amenities. However, the hotel is showing its age. I'll be back, but might try another hotel on one of my next trips.

I was so excited about my upcoming trip to Island Hotel. Every year I take one of my BFF's on a spa weekend. I had meticulously arranged everything - going over and over the details. When I called to make my spa reservations, though there was a problem. I talked to the manager Casey. He saved my weekend! He made sure that my friend and I would be taken care of. It's so wonderful to get customer service where it seems like the hotel actually CARES about you as a customer, and truly wants your business. What a great customer service experience. Thank you Casey!
