Staff are so friendly, because of the small size of this hotel you get to no everyone. We especially loved Earl behind the bar , such a lovely sweet man .
You are limited on choices of food and having to choose your meal times at breakfast for the rest of the day is a pain, how do you no when you'll be hungry!
This hotel is not on the beach but is very close to Pebbles beach , hiring sun beds and parasol at 40 Barbados dollars a day gets expensive.
Overall we had a good holiday, this place is far from perfect, but holidays are what you make of them
Loved it...

I met my daughter here who lives in USA for a her 30th birthday. We had a wonderful time. Staff were very attentive and helpful. I asked for Champagne and flowers to be put in our room while we were out one day (which they had to order in) and when we got back yo our they had displayed them beautifully. When we went for dinner they had decorated the table especially for her birthday. They made her feel special. Food was very tasty and plenty of choice.. Bar staff were helpful and remembered our drinks lol.. we would definitely go back here. Its a 2 minute walk from the beautiful pebbles beach where you can hire sunbeds and umbrellas for the day. Also you will find Sam the man who does guided island tours which are brilliant. You can walk along the beach into Bridgtown, about 20 min walk, much nicer than the road way.. !! So much I can say but most of all the people are very friendly..
Run on a shoestring budget!

We would like to start by saying that whilst the hotel staff work extremely hard and are delightful characters, they cannot be accountable for the lack of money being invested in the upkeep and maintenance of this hotel. On arrival, only one door key card was issued and though we asked for a second one, it never materialised. This was very frustrating keep having to ask my husband for the key card.
My absolute bug bearer is lack of internet! Every time I wanted to use the internet, I had to sit in reception to get a decent signal and this was one of the hot spots for being bitten by mosquito's! All I did was itch and scratch! There was no air conditioning available or overhead fans to cool the area so I just dripped sweat onto the floor! In this day and age, there is no excuse for not having internet throughout the whole complex. The traffic of guests convening in the hotel lobby, morning, afternoon and evening to check emails, book excursions, check in online, many professional people who still have to manage business affairs whilst on holiday is unacceptable. Internet is available in the adjoining bar area, but once again many guests had their heads buried in their mobile devices for long periods of time whilst the local mosquito's feasted on ankles and legs! Not once did we see the hotel being fumigated for Mosquito's. Drinks measurements are all over the place, only being served 1/2pint lager at a time with 1/4 pint being froth! Wine was served in a 125ml glass so it looked like we were drinking much more than we usually do because of having to ask for 2 drinks instead of 1!
We had a room right by the pool but it really lacked natural light. Bathroom cleanliness wasn't great, but this was reflected more on the maintenance side ie. mouldy silicone around the bath and the tap in the bath fell off every time we used it! The paintwork is in desperate need of attention and our air conditioning didn't work. After asking 4 times for it to be looked at, finally an engineer came and repaired it. It was so hot at night that we put wet towels in a fridge we had asked to be put in our room, so we could cool down and try to sleep!
The pool is small and only really any good for a quick cool off. There were only 3 parasols for use by the pool, not enough for the sun beds... as you can imagine, it was very hot!!
The entertainment is very low key , we felt some music in the bar would have much improved the ambiance, sometimes it felt like we were in a library! With regards to having lunch and supper.... having to give a time going in for breakfast, what time we wanted lunch and dinner became a nuisance. One waitress blocked my path into breakfast one morning insisting I gave times to her! Breakfast does not start until 7.30am. We had two very early starts so had to miss breakfast because it was unavailable before then. We noticed that other guests were irritated by this as well. When we walked past the Radisson Hotel on Pebbles Beach, breakfast was in full swing at 7am!
On a positive note, the location is right by Pebbles Beach and is quaint and characteristic. Don't miss a quick bite at Cuz's Fish and Cheese Burger bar in the Pebbles Beach car park. A morning swim before breakfast is a must... white sand, blue water, tropical fish and turtles swimming around you and as warm as a heated pool! Early morning about 6.30am, you can hear the race horses walk past the hotel on their way to their morning swim. Get up early, this is not to be missed.
Walking into Bridgetown on the beach is beautiful , and the bus drivers are incredibly helpful. We took a day trip to the sister hotel Mango Bay in Holetown for a change of scenery and it was gorgeous!
This hotel just needs TLC and it would be fabulous.
Not enough there food was limiting

The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff helpful . There was a lack of entertament only 3 nights out of 7 no activities and the set menu daily was very limiting . I also had to select my eating times for the day at breakfast . It was a lovely holiday but the lack of snacks throughout the day at the bar and only a sandwich for afternoon tea I found daily going out to eat . :( the pool area needed some tlc . The rooms where nice lovely air con and cleaned daily just needed some finishing touches aand the place could be a gem
A different style !

We had 2 weeks here from the 12th October, the hotel has a small friendly feel to it, it’s success is down to its amazing staff , who are all there to make sure you get the most out of your holiday ,
The food is really good quality and varied ( I am gluten free and managed fine!) and Ricia and Angela and Annette were fabulous .
The drinks and all the bar staff are lovely , and Earl, Dane and Hasani mix fabulous cocktails.
The pool is small and only really any good for a quick cool off, we didn’t sit around it as there is a lot of greenery and we were badly bitten, on that point, I would say the reception area , the bar and pool all seem to be mosquito hot spots!
We stayed in room 4 on the back side of the hotel, the problem with this room is you can hear everything in room 5 due to an poorly fit connecting door!!! We were very lucky that it was only occupied a few days during our stay, or I think we would have asked to move.
The weather wasn’t kind during our stay, so seating in the dry areas can be in short supply, the entertainment is very low key , we sometimes felt a little music in the bar or restaurant would have improved the ambiance ,
The location is really close to Pebbles Beach and Carlisle Bay , walking into Bridgetown on the beach is beautiful , Barbados is generally safe and all the bus drivers are incredibly helpful, do take a trip to the sister hotel Mango Bay for a day out and change of scenery, it’s at Holetown - which has very nice shops !
