My wife and I stayed in this charming little B&B recently. We had booked for two nights but decided to extend our stay as we liked the location so much. The owner was a delight to deal with and it was no trouble at all when we asked if we could stay longer. It is well located with almost everything on the island only minutes away. Breakfast is taken in a near by cafe and is a simple coffee and pastry. We fully intend to return to this B&B and soon.

This hotel is a fantastic hotel!! We were 3 girls, the owner made us feel very welcome and safe, very nice man who also recommended places to go and great restaurants to eat. The room is beautiful with parque flooring, very clean and also included a kitchenette. Very good price and very central. Definitely the place to be in syracusa, highly recommended!!
Charming little b&b

Even though we stayed here only for one night, we loved the place, the ultra-central location in the heart of the island, next to everything. The rooms were large and had a certain charm, as they kept the architecture of the building and were nicely decorated.
At night it can get noisy being in a touristy area (Piazza de Archimede), so better bring some ear plugs with you.
The breakfast is at the bar downstairs, called Diana and is a pastry and coffee, like everywhere in Italy, but it's ok to get you going in the morning.
It is very difficult to find a parking lot, you cannot park anywhere near the center and all the free parking places are usually taken. We decided to park in a payable area for a few hours, then moved the car closer to the hotel (10 min walk) in a free zone in the evening.
great location and comfortable room

This is an ideally located B&B, right in the centre of Ortigia. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I can’t fault it except for the breakfast which is just coffee and a pastry at the bar downstairs.
Comfortable room in Siracusa

Siracusa is a fabulous town and B&B Itaca is very well located in the old part, Ortigia. We were able to drop off bags in front of the B&B but free parking was 15 minutes walk away. Giuseppe, our host, greeted us on arrival; he is a friendly and laid back character and he gave us a map, told us about things to do and places to eat.
We stayed in a quiet room on the top floor, called Penelope, which was spacious, nicely decorated and furnished. The room was lit by two skylights but there were no windows, smoke alarms, or fire extinguishers. The only means of access was a narrow staircase with 2 turns.
The bathroom was compact and the shower quite small. When seated on the toilet, my knees touched the side of the shower. The bathroom needs to be enlarged and the layout changed, to make better use of the space.
Vouchers were provided for breakfast at a cafe in the Piazza Archimede but this covered just one croissant and a cup of coffee. At 90 euros per night, it was disappointing value for money.
Giuseppe only visits the B&B occasionally and it is recommended that you make arrangements with him to be available when arriving and departing.
