We stayed one night at Jagaar and loved it! We wish we could have stayed longer but time did not permit. Our arrangements were well taken care of before our trip began with Ms. Sona Joshi arranging for a Corbett jeep and driver. They even packed lunch the day we left. On our way to spending our night inside Corbett at Dhikala, we stopped at Jagaar for a wonderful lunch before heading into Corbett. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Anoop and his wonderful staff. All of us appreciated the refreshing lychee juice from their farm after our 5 hour journey. We returned the next day to spend the night at Jagaar.
Jagaar is incredibly peaceful and we found the accommodations ideal for our family. As for the food, we were treated to amazing cooking and baked goods. My wife and I were thrilled at the pumpkin curry served and could not get enough of it. Our two boys could not get enough of the fresh Indian breads coming off the stove.
We highly recommend staying at Jagaar as part of your Corbett experience. Thank you and we hope to be back!
Home away from Home

Outstanding experience staying at Jaagar, Corbett. Not a resort or a hotel, we found it more as a home away from home.
Great hospitality, friendly and caring people..... a must visit if you are planning a trip to Corbitt.
An oasis for the living....

Jaagar is neither a hotel nor a resort. It's neither a farm stay nor a camp. It's a state of mind. It's unpretentious and understated. It loves & cares for Corbett and its denizens. It's a home, I wish I had. It's the oasis for the seasoned wildlife & bird-watcher. It's the kind of place which grows on you and evolves you into a true enthusiast. The greatest thing about the place is the lack of obsession with the Tiger! It's about discovering nature as it unfolds at your doorstep. You can choose the degree of engagement with the forest, the land and the people. It's seriously up to you. You can confront your inadequacies on a walk in the forest, alive with its residents or bond with family and friends on a bicycle on a jungle or village track. Laze on the lawns with a book or watch the bees make honey. Walk the vegetable garden and uproot a radish, wash it in the crystal clear water channel and bite into its crunchy sweetness. Wander onto the neighbouring farm and smell the freshly cut hay or the dung cakes. Watch the udders teased lovingly for the freshest and sweetest milk. Sit beside the neighbouring railway track, put a coin it and wait. Feel the distant rumbling and the rattle in the tracks of the approaching 2.12p.m to Ramnagar.. feel the rush as it hurtles towards you screaming it's arrival and passes you with a gust of wind and the "clickety-clat" of the tracks and then it's gone. The coin is flattened, shining and warm!
Jaagar sucks the stress out of your weary bones and makes you aware that there is a possibility to live again. It loves its own people and they ensure you feel you have a home. Their attention is unobtrusive, simple and efficient. Must visit for those who love fabulous home cooked meals, fresh fruits, loads of buttermilk, pickles to tantalise your taste buds music and books!

Fantastic visit to the Corbett Jungle with Jagaar

The resort is spacious, comfortable, and lovely; Every room is differently designed and beautiful. Fantastic modern bathrooms which were a must for us. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious and made to order. They took care of our need to tone down the chilies as we were with kids. We are NRIs with kids so cleanliness was high on our list, didnt want kids getting upset stomachs. I have to say the resort, the grounds the swimming pool was spotless and fabulous. This was my kids first visit to a jungle and we were very impressed with the resort, its friendly staff the fruit trees, a lovely swimming pool. In the night they setup a bar in the lawns and did a much needed bonfire. The food was home cooked and I must give a special mention for the really friendly staff, made us comfortable and feel at home.
The highlight is certainly the game drive to the Corbett forest, which happen at 7:30am and 1:30pm each day. To get you ready for the early morning drives, a staff member will come to your room at a pre-arranged time (with tea, coffee, and fruit if you ask). You are then paired with a driver for the day, which enables them to get to know you, keep track of what you've seen. The jungle is teeming with life, even in the cold season when we went. Within seconds of entering the jungle , we came across a huge magnificent tusker & his herd trumpeting away causing us to backup to a safe distance and letting them pass, scary moments but fantastic. Going into the plains and driving through rivers presented awe-inspiring views -- they truly feel like endless plains -- and the chance to spot tigers, elephants, peacocks, monkeys, deers and more. The resort gave us a picnic basket with sandwiches and drinks and we were the envy of the other jeeps !
I loved every moment of my three days there, and look forward to going back for the tiger we believe we just missed !! For my kids it is the highlight of the India experience away from the cities and experiencing nature in India for the first time. Don't hesitate -- just book and enjoy your stay!
