There are some positive reviews of this hotel, and I echo all of them. The one thing that I wanted to add is that there was an extravagant wedding on the grounds the second night that we were there. We were very intrigued watching it get set up, but worried about noise etc that evening. No problem; the windows seem to be sound proof, and the only issue we had was a "ding dong ditch" doorbell ringing in the middle of the night, not a problem for a great occasion to witness. Wonderful hotel.

This was our first time at the Taj Hotels and we are extremely disappointed by the hospitality we experienced at the Jai Mahal Palace, Jaipur. The staff was a mix of untrained and impolite people. There were a lot of occasions when I regretted my decision of staying at the hotel.
1. Most of the people on phone appeared ill-trained (from room service to reception to dining). They were always in a rush to cut the call. They even did not know how to speak properly with their guests.
2. Presentation of the food at the Marble Arch restaurant was not up to the mark. One the waitresses broke a glass by mistake. No one came immediately to clean the floor. An aged waiter gathered the glass pieces by his foot.
3. One of the Supervisors (Male) at the Marble Arch restaurant misleaded us. When we were heading towards the buffet, he politely said that he would serve the food for us at the table itself. Later he said that food would be apart from the buffet and would be chargeable. We still ordered 1 parantha. He went and did not come back. Another North-Eastern Supervisor (Female) then attended us well. She was very helpful. Very polite.
4. On inquiring about the phone number of the Marble Arch restaurant from our room, the person on the call (some male receptionist) asked "why" we need the number.
5. The evening puppet show was very badly organized. It lasted for hardly 3-4 minutes and none of the performers were enthusiastic. The audience was in a shock when the show ended. We didn't realize that the show has actually ended. On the other hand, the dance show was good. The flute player who plays in the morning was a cheerful and helpful person. The Tanga-Ride guy was also good.
6. The staff seemed to be more attentive towards the foreign audience rather than their own people (Indians). We experienced classism.
7. Room Service staff was good and very attentive.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the pink city center. It used to be accommodation for the royal family and it is now nicely adapted for tourists. The spacious and beautifully arranged gardens are a highlight. Rooms are good- comfortable with the expected amenities. The restaurant offered nice local food - the buffet is varied and interesting.
My only reservation with the hotel is that staff was extremely pushy about tips. The waiters and bell staff would not hesitate to ask for tips directly and/or stare insistently to make clear they expected something.

Excellent Palace, Warm welcome by Himanshi & Narender, Duty Manager.
Staff was very warm and welcoming. Spent most of the time at the palace instead of exploring the city, which says how much I liked my stay.
Jiva Spa was gr8 refreshing. Requested blueroom, sitout room and got the same preferred room. Service was excellent. Marble Arch was fantastic place for breakfast and dinner, lots of food choices to choose from.
Himanshi was very helpful at lobby to show me ard the palace at the time of check in, and help throughout my stay. thanks to her Hospitality. Narender was much helpful to give me brief history and walkthrough of the palace and arranging everything as per request.
Room was gr8, exactly how I wanted it to be, fruits n water were refilled up to date, clean and quiet as well. well rested place and def I call it home at Jaipur. I'm Hilton Elite and this is my first time with TajHotels and def got a loyal customer onwards!

Stayed for four nights at the Taj Jai mahal palace. We were a family of nine people and we were upgraded to higher category room with sitout. excellent service at this Taj property. Cannot complain. Good food. Restaurant staff were really good. One of the best in service I have encountered so far by restaurant staff. Hotel drivers are very well mannered and drove us around jaipur. Definitely recommend this hotel
