Gavin Don 21/07/2017 11:09Great location just 1km from the castle and old town.
It is opposite the little sandy beach and just 500m from the marina.
There are a choice of good restaurants close to this location.
The hotel is affiliated with The Riviera hotel 60m away and this has a great pool and spa facilities for Janus clients use.
All the staff I met were lovely, from the reception lady (a student from Belarus) through to the cleaners and breakfast staff.
We elected to pay a little extra and had a sea facing room (with balcony- magnificent sunsets looking towards Corsica) which made up for the clean and tidy yet relatively basic room.
The aircon worked well, as did the wifi and the bed was very comfortable (firm).
Breakfast is served from 8-10am on the fourth floor and the location commands one of the best views of the bay, marina and castle that you could imagine. The breakfast is good, with usual fare (bread, meat, cheeses, fruit, cereal, yogurts, juices, coffee, tea, hard boiled eggs and only seemed to be lacking a cooked option - although not a problem for us.
In summary a magical location to spend our last 3 nights / 4 days at after a comprehensive tour of this great island. Hotel Janus - we will be back!

Spatious room (had a three person/ wheelchair accessible room on the ground floor) Breakfast at the fourth floor with nice view over the sea. Breakfast itself is OK but basic. Rooms are clean but the other spaces in the hotel a lot less. For example we found the dame empty bottles next to the lift door on the garage level when we arrived and when we left. Parking place costs 10€ per day and only small cars can get in or out.
Too expensive for what you get.

Berry Ron 02/05/2017 10:41Beautiful hotel restored in a gorgeous way with good taste and good usage of space. Very friendly and helpful personnel made us feel really nice and comfortable. The rooms on the seaside have a great view!
Only the parking space is very limited, in the cellar there is a parking but because of the age of the building this fits small cars and its bit difficult to use.
Nice breakfast overlooking the sea and good food.

PROS

* We had a very spacious suite on the top floor with a view of the beach which was really nice.
* Comfortable bed.
* Decent breakfast.
* Very friendly staff.
* Short 5-10 minute walk into town.
* Plenty of restaurants and bars in the area.
CONS
--------
* The pool is actually in a different hotel just along the street. It’s not big but actually was quite nice – especially as there were usually no other people there. During peak times, it would be a different story!
* They ran out of bread at breakfast one morning.
* You have to pay for parking.
Modern hotel with value for money

Nice modern hotel with extremely friendly staff and sufficiently confortable rooms. Location is within walking distance of the old-town of Castelsardo, despite being a bit off. Definitely a good place to stay!
