Loved the location (in the city), the staff were friendly, room was clean and breakfast was reasonable...will definitely come back when I visit Arusha.
Looked like there used to be a bar at the roof top, not sure if there are plans to open it in future?

Been all around Tanzania, slept at different places in various conditions. This was a really nice place to rest and enjoy. It's not that expensive, you can eat relatively good there, rooms are kept clean, it's near the bus station and it has a WiFi connection. Staff is really kind, Tanzania style. If I ever visit this town again I'll come to Joshmal, that's for sure.

I stayed in this hotel a night before safari (#108) and a night after (#310). It has central location and a modern building. Manager Patrick was very friendly and allowed me using his office (computer) for booking my flight.
There were a few issues with amenities. Lift (elevator) doesn't work, remember, Room#108 is actually on third floor and #310 on the 5th floor. In Room#108 shower was too hot -no temp control. There was some 'flushing' or 'gushing' sound all night coming from somewhere in the bathroom that I couldn't sleep. I think they knew this issue since I saw false ceiling of bathroom removed (see pic). During next visit they gave me #310- no light in the room! Besides, lack of towels, shampoo or lotion, water, wifi, cable were other common issues. Unless you go in peak season- restaurent starts for your order from scratch...it takes hour!
First time rate was $50, next time negotiated to $40, I am sure locals get around $25. Anyway, I liked it location, building, even internal color theme was good, and plenty of cabinets for your luggage (see second pic). Breakfast (buffet) was nice and fast. My second room even had a balcony.

The hotel is quite modern and was a little difficult to find because there was no sign outside! They gave us two single rooms on the fourth floor. Price of a room with breakfast was US$40 (locals only pay $25). The lift wasn't working. WiFi was only available in the bar/restaurant but it worked well enough. I had a corner room with big windows on two sides and a fantastic view of Mt Meru.
Would I stay there again? Yes I think so, but only if the lift is working.

We stayed in this hotel before and after our safari in August 2014. The room was clean and tidy although none of the amenities worked properly.
Shower wasn't always hot and water got everywhere.
Restaurant was incredibly slow, took over an hour to get our dinner which was burnt and not as described on the menu.
The bar on the top floor overlooking the street was good.
Laundry service was expensive but good.
The hotel was cheap (you get what you pay for) and we were happy with the stay.
