Stopped for a night at this place. We were a family of 3, including my son. We had booked a deluxe non ac room but it turned out that the hotel was empty on that day. The manager was considerate in upgrading us to a AC family room at the same price. Room was big with a double bed and a single bed in a smaller room. The hotel is a little off the main road but it makes it up in space. Food at the restaurant was good and the breakfast even though with limited items was decent. Staff were courteous and prompt.

worst experience, Dirty beds, room full of mosquitoes, dull staff....,
we booked for 2 days but checked out same day after 2 hours, worst staff behaviour
suggestion is to book a lodge than this hotel.

Driving into Kohlapur one night on way to Bangalore, chanced to get to Jotiba! It is a glorified third rate lodge to be avoided. Don't waste time going anywhere near...chose to drive on and find better places....

I am surprised how this hotel has positive reviews, based on which I booked my stay here but was disappointed. This hotel is far away from city center, not only far, it is in a complete opposite direction from major tourist attractions. An auto ride to the city will easily cost 50 rupees one way. Hotel is located inside from the main road. There are no buildings in surrounding and I observed people drinking on the roadside during late evening hours. It did not appeared safe to me. When I checked in, reception boy Mandhar told me I will have free amenities including breakfast and wi-fi. Breakfast was average with idli smabhar and bread butter jam provided daily and one variable dish but wi-fi was a false promise. Whenever I called the reception telling wi-fi is not working, I heard responses like 'let me restart it', 'give us 10 minutes', etc which ultimately never worked. Mandhar revealed the secret during check out that wi-fi does not works on first floor, how good is that! Rooms were big, but when I checked in, there was a thick layer of dust on bed, phone and other things. Toilet seat was broken and dustbins were filled with left overs from previous guests and it looked untidy. Room rent was way high per city standards. They allowed some function to happen in their lawn one evening which was good enough to not let you in peace until early midnight because of the noise. On the day I checked out, I called room service three times for providing water bottle but my request was not attended. When confronted at check out, service manager agreed that he missed the request because he was busy, how sick is that! Same day when I requested for a fresh towel, it was not provided either and Mandhar seem pretty casual and careless about it.
Location was poor, hospitality was not good, staff was unfriendly, rent was high and there was nothing good about it.

I had planned a vacation for my family to Goa by road. We decided to reach Goa by Mumbai Bangalore Highway (NH4), which has been the most pleasant driving experience. We had decided to take a night halt at Kolhapur (approx.400 kms.) and to take the blessings of Goddess AmbaBai (Mahalakshmi). Entering into Kolhapur we started looking for a decent hotel to stay. Immediately on our left side we saw a huge sign board of Hotel Jotiba and we decided to explore the same. The hotel is very conveniently placed at the entrance of Kolhapur City which is easy for entry and exit from the city. Reasonably priced it has ample car parking space which is a necessity for hopping visitors to Goa. The rooms are spacious and the food is also good. Most importantly, the reception staff is very courteous and helpful in guiding you in whatever help you require. It has been a very pleasant stay at Hotel Jotiba and I strongly recommend the Goa visitors to have an overnight halt at Hotel Jotiba and also take blessings of Goddess AmbaBai.
