Do not expect too much from this place. It's okay...

This is a typical decent hostel, not worth staying with my girlfriend even being in a room with a private bathroom.
The facilities are very simple and the room and bathroom are to be desired.
The bed was horrible, any movement made some spring jump and hit hard against the body.
We spent the cold even with the window closed, since there was a gap through which the cold wind came.
The service at the front desk was okay and the hotel is fairly well located.
But maybe a little more investment you get to stay in a better hotel.
Very good service

This is my second time I stay here and this time they gave me an upgrade, really happy with this place. I talked to different staff and they were all very friendly. Amenities are good. Price is low for this nice hostel. Main attractions (Sky Tower, pier, bus stops) are reachable by foot.
Overall good stay

Reception staff was friendly when we first arrived; room was clean and neat and tidy, no complaints whatsoever. Plus point is that the place is near city area, super recommended place to stay!!!!!! :)
RUDE TERRIBLE STAFF WILL NEVER RECOMMEND AGAIN.

Stayed on the night of 10th October. I Checked in at 9.00pm after a 3 hour exhausting drive to Auckland.
After The guy behind the desk took my payment for the room he then asked for my license which i had forgot. HE THEN ASKED ME TO LEAVE AND THAT I WILL NOT BE CHECKING IN. I have stayed here many times before and my profile was even on the system. Obviously this staff member is not trained in reading let alone customer service.
He then apologized to another guest for my behavior which was not in all disruptive. Its a shame one staff member can ruin the reputation of the place but this was beyond rude and as management I would hope you act fast on this before you get many more negative reviews.
You would get better service at a one star hostel down the road. This place has sunk. I'm ashamed that I have recommended Jucy to people before.
Great location, great staff.

This is a really good budget option if you just want a place to crash in Auckland City. A warm friendly welcome by the helpful staff, and the parking option is very cheap and convenient. The location is fantastic and you can walk to all the best spots around Auckland City like The Viaduct, Britomart, Sky Tower etc, the area is fun to walk around day or night. Very close to some lovely cafes and restaurants to suit every taste and budget. I took my 14 year old twins to Auckland for a night and stayed in a quad room which was basic but all we needed. Unfortunately you can hear almost every noise, but if travellers are just a little bit thoughtful after 10pm you would get a good night's sleep. Sadly while we were there a couple of European men arrived about 2.30am and thought it was OK to stomp through the building, slamming doors and talking loudly, then have a sit down outside the rooms and have a big loud chat. Reception staff eventually did ask them to quieten down but only after I complained. Would suggest anyone coming in late is asked by staff to be quiet and thoughtful. That said, if you do stay here just be thoughful of other guests if you arrive after 10pm! Would definitely stay again though, and recommend to travellers and families for a short stay at very reasonable rates. Pics are from around the area.
