We stayed for a week end sept / Oct , was greeted by c c /sissi , a very polite professional owner I would imagine, but hotel itself is in pristine condition I don’t know how old it is but it looks like it’s only about two or three years old, there’s a couple of little drinking places within a five minute walk not even that, then the other little village next door to it about a 10 minute walk or a five minute walk if you going on the beach, so it is very quiet but if that’s what you want that is definitely the place to go could not fault the place, this is however nothing to do with the hotel obviously but maybe it is something to do with the time of the year that we went, but we were the only Brits out there, and felt we were the only ones with all German/I would guess especially the two who were together two chaps, Who seem to think they owned the pool area but like I’ve said that is the odd thing with different nationalities dare I say but again that is nothing to do with the hotel or hotelier, but just beware if you are from the UK you may possibly be the only couple there but that didn’t bother us because we love the place the hotel, and the owner, and the area, and we don’t give a stuff about anybody else, enjoy
Top quality in the middle of nowhere.

My husband and I arrived at the Koukla Mare studio appartments on 24th August 2017. We received a warm welcome from the owner and shown to our ground floor studio. Lovely appartment, spacious very clean and well maintained. Outlook onto the garden and the pool was very relaxing. The whole complex was of a very high standard, cannot praise it enough and the people that keep it that way.
The draw back is, nowhere to eat. The two hotels there welcome you but the food is basic. The one taverna is ok but wouldn't want to go every night.
There is no beach.
Aghios Sotis which is a thriving village is a 20 minute walk around the road (dark in places when coming home) or you can walk along the shoreline access from the hotel.
There is a guy with a horse and cart who will bring you home for 10 euros that was fun!
I would recommend if you seek tranquillity and you like to walk.
Nice and calm

We spent a week of our summer vacation here. Lovely hotel in beautiful and quiet surroundings. You will need to rent a bike or car if you want to explore the island though.
The rooms are small but nice and clean. The kitchen contains a very basic setup of things, so don't expect to do any advanced cooking.
Quiet, very clean, neat inside and out, balconys all front facing. would recommend and use again

In a quiet part of the south of Zante, Koukla Mare Studios was an ideal base on which to explore the local area, The studios were clean, nicely set out, all balcony's were front facing over the pool, had everything you could need in a small self contained studio, including a microwave and large fridge, although ideal for 2 people we added an extra bed and there was still plenty of space to move around and not fall over anything, from the outside, everything was neat and tidy, we were lucky to get the balcony with flowers all around it, the sheets and towels were changed every other day and also the bins. the swimming pool was clean and well maintained with sufficient sunbeds and umbrella's, for anyone who didn't go down to the beach.
The studios were within easy reach of several supermarkets, and taverners offering excellent food, also just short walk to small beach and 10 minutes from a sandy beach with all you would expect along the seafront,
The lady on site welcomed us on arrival and thanked us for staying when we left.
Isolated unless you hire a car

No reception, no bar, coffee shop etc just a pool. Maid only came every other day to empty toilet and kitchen bin. Sheets changed once a week .Towels changed every other day. A hotel and small mini market at one end of the road, further along at the other end was a restaurant /tavern, and another supermarket . No buses or taxis in the area you would need to phone for a taxi. The beach was patchy , has the sea lapped against the walls in most places and only here and there was there a couple of feet of sand. The studios are all self catering, if you did not want to cook a meal you walked to the hotel at the end of the road and ordered one. About 30mins walk away there was a small cove with a few more shops and restaurants. Laganas was 45mins -1hour walk away it is an 18-30 yrs partying resort. Not suitable for people with walking difficulties. If you like to lay next to the pool all day this area would suit you.
