BBQ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My first BBQ at Angel’s Seafood Restaurant; Kanuku Suites! Thanks to Ms. Tameka, Renata and team for pulling this off! The barbeque was well done, and I was pleased with the portion size too. As an avid reviewer, I would like to suggest other events such as Seafood Fiesta Fridays, Catch-of-the-Day seafood dishes. Also, in the future where feasible you can add some premium seafood dishes with ingredients such as mussels and clams to cater to our Cosmopolitan guests. If you like I can provide some suggested dishes,……
Keep forging ahead with continued improvement especially with Customer Service (Food and Beverage Dept).

Avoid this hotel

This hotel is situated in a quiet street a few blocks from Sheriff Street.
The customer service is appalling.
It's rooms are tired and dated.
The bed mattress was too short for the bed and an extra bit was added that caused the under sheet to come off every night making it most uncomfortable.
My safe was locked on arrival so I asked for someone to come with the master key. I was given a message by another member of our group to say it was broken - I'd like to know how seeing as nobody came to look at it. The next morning I asked another member of staff and was told the previous guest had gone home with the key!!!!!
I ordered lunch from the bar menu - 30 minutes later kept being told it was coming. When it did arrive it was not what I ordered. I gave up as had to go out.
The next day I returned from a trip and found my toilet leaking and had reached the carpet. I reported to reception and was told the plumber would be an hour - this was 6pm. 2 hours later, not arrived so went back to desk to say the water was now soaking the carpet and were they going to offer me another room? Blank look from male receptionist who reluctantly gave me the key to another room . . . Air con not working and would have to make the bed by using linen from my other room. Gave key back and this time told plumber on way but he was coming from out of town. At 11pm I gave up and went to bed.
The next morning I asked if the plumber was still on his way. The room lady came and looked and was horrified- not her fault - but she did get it fixed while I was out that day.
The carpet in 402 needs replacing but be warned - if they don't it's gonna be very smelly soon!
Not a good experience.
Cheap and worry-free

I was looking for a good hotel price for my stay in Guyana, and I got that here. Nothing flashy. Just a cheap, worry-free stay. I liked it (mostly because it was easy on my wallet). I'd recommend this hotel for those who are looking for just a place to eat and sleep at an affordable price. Not bad.
So helpful

A very short overnight stay in well appointed en-suite rooms. They reflect Guyanese style, which is not European style and should not be criticised because of this. They have coffee and tea making facilities, a hair dryer, a fridge and some rooms have small fully fitted kitchens. They are a bit airless, but the air con works, as does the TV. Eon, who was behind the desk, was so very helpful and did all that he could for us. He ordered an airport taxi for 2.45am and it was waiting for us at that time. He even arranged for the security guard to give us wake up calls, which was very kind of him. As we were missing breakfast he brought bowls of fresh fruit salad to our rooms the evening before. This was well worth the $80 per room and we were very pleased we had chosen this hotel which had previously been recommended by a friend.
Don`t go there

Please do not stay at that "hotel".
The room had a disgusting smell always. No ventilation, the remote control of the air conditioner was bad so I had to operate it manually, the TV had only 3 or 4 local channels, the bedding did not feel clean, it had a fridge without a bar service, and mosquitoes at night.
Breakfast was very poor, just a couple of toast with a bit of mani butter and a bit of jam, some almost aged fruit and a piece of cheese the size of a credit card.
The guy who serves the bar is a cheeky guy. He does tricks to extra charge on some things he sells, like cigarettes and drinks.
The only good point is the hotel receptionist, Keri. She is very kind and friendly always. She has very good disposition and smile always too.
