Stayed there for 4 nights and loved it. Although we had to take the stairs up to the hotel I really liked the place. It was really calm as it has only a few rooms so far and only had to walk 15-20 mins to the Red Sqaure. Streets are also safe around. Staff is helpful but not really into foreign languages. During our stay they did not serve breakfast.
Don't be afraid to choose this hotel!

5th floor in a five storey building with no lift - we were aware of this - however the stair well is narrow steep, no one helps you with bags, staff are lazy, rude, dont speak english, beds not made over the 3 days and we had to keep asking for towels each day. Bad wi-fi. The room had been abused by previous visitors. Bad tv reception. Stuffy, pokey. The ground floor stairwell smelt of feral cat piss & stale water & cigarette smell. The landing on the top floor outside the entrance to this hovel is where the staff smoke. Old filthy lounges, table & ashtrays filled to the brink every single day (we were there for 4 poxy days). The taxi driver could not find the hotel either! There was no signage in the street and the entrance is to the side of a building down a narrow lane! Pathetic! This place should be condemned!

the rooms are acceptable, but there are four flights of stairs with no lift. The stairs have a bad smell and it is not nice pass. The girls at the reception are friendly and nice, but they not speak English very well.

Great location. About 30 mins walk to the centre of Moscow and Red Square. Basic room. No tea/coffee. 83 stairs to the fifth floor where the hotel is located. Quite difficult to find hotel - back street that you cant drive down. "Receptionist" not always there and speaks no English. Location is all. Actual hotel poor.

The 'hotel' is to be found up 8 flights of stairs - there is no lift - very dingy stairs - pictures added.
'Reception' is found just past the little table at the top of the stairs on which was an overflowing ashtray and an array of fags & lighters, and is a little desk and chair. We were met by a surly woman who checked our bookings and handed us our room keys without any further instruction!
Anyway, we went to our rooms - we both had a twin room each and the beds were tiny as were the rooms! There was a really high step up to the bathroom - not safe at all in my opinion. The bathroom was quite clean as was the room, however the side of the 'bath/shower' was hanging off!
We were told that we had to order breakfast in the morning to be delivered to our room, I'll get back to that later!
We went out and had a lovely meal and decided to have an early night as we wanted to be up bright and early to go sightseeing.
However, I didn't sleep very well - not that the little tiny bed was uncomfortable it was more that I started to worry about the ramifications if there was a fire in the building. Don't forget - we were up 8 flights of stairs and there weren't any fire escapes or outside fire stairs, normally in a hotel there is the fire drill on the back of the room door - not here!
At about 1am in the morning I got on the internet and booked an apartment very close to Red Square - very well priced and a much better location.
The person in the room next to me was very noisy - clomping about and putting the TV on very loud in the early hours of the morning - I'll reveal who that was shortly!
I was up early and kept checking reception from before 8am to see if we could order breakfast - no -one appeared so we did without. I saw an English couple who said that there was never any one there in the mornings and they'd had to breakfast elsewhere each day!
We decided to go sightseeing and go back later to check out to go to the new apartment, as we were going out the person who had been in room 10 next to me emerged - disheveled and obviously worse for wear it was a member of staff! Just pushed past us without a word!
Later in the afternoon, we packed and went to check out. Once again, the surly woman was on reception - watching something fascinating on her laptop with a friend - she eventually looked up at us with a tut and I politely handed her the keys and said we were leaving. She just shrugged and carried on watching whatever it was on her laptop! I wasn't surprised by this reaction!
No airconditioning makes the rooms unbearable as the fan just moves the hot air around.
Not a great location for the main attractions - and it's not so cheap that you'd make do as there are much better places available.
