A real bargain in a central location close to public transportation in lots of historical buildings. An older Hotel that is freshly remodeled. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout. The only negative is traffic noise at night.

The hotel has had a recent face lift, which you could tell by the lobby and room. Although the bathroom was still dated, it was clean. The staff (front desk, doorman, cleaning staff) are all very friendly and helpful. A welcoming atmosphere. The location is great, very close to a lot of attractions. It is also very reasonably priced! Not fancy, but it checks off a lot of the other items on my list!

This place is simple, clean, basic no frills hotel. It's easy to get to and from here and the parking situation is valet :) perfect for a quick business trip. Affordable, great staff, great location. Blocks away from grand central market which has every type of food too!!!

Stayed at the Kawada Hotel for 4 nights and I was dissapointed at first, however, it improved during my stay.
POSITIVES:
- Location is the best thing about this hotel, the hotel is next to an amazing cafe, grand central park, central market and Angels Flight.
- The silver line and underground metro are just up the street so you have the whole of LA to explore.
- Free Wi-Fi is actually good!
- Exceptional customer service from the staff
- The hotel is quiet and not located next to any busy nightclubs
NEGATIVES:
- The shower takes ages to heat up, I mean I had a coffee and brushed my teeth in the time it was hot enough.
- The lift needs a good servicing, going to 4th floor the first time was pretty scary, the lights flickered and the shuddering added to the feeling of dread.
CONCLUSION:
- The hotel is all round great! The shower is bad however it works, the lift scares you at first but you get used to it! LA Downtown has so much to do so you won't be at the hotel for long anyway. I had such a blast in LA and having a great hotel added to my complete experience.

We were not expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised! Fabulous, attentive and helpful staff, clean and updated well appointed rooms with comfy bed. Also had fridge, microwave and tv with more channels than we could watch. Located close to L.A. Superior Court and the Downtown Market, among other LA attractions. The valet parking was no hassle and prompt car delivery.
