I booked this place for my parent's basis reviews on Tripvisor and other portal. Sharing my review:
1. Parents were pleased by hospitality from the host. Vijender ji and his wife is nice dependable people. They guide you well and arrange travel with trusted people. My mother loved playing with their youngest kid.
2. The room was tidy, well managed and good in size.
3. Food is simple yet tastes good if you want to not have Delhi belly.
I'll recommend the place if you do look for place near to Assi Ghat who have great host.

This place is very near to Ganga river at Assi Ghat.We felt like our home.The whole family person are very warm welcoming,well cultured and hard working.Rooms are airy well cleaned.Staffs of the guest house are cooperative.I think it is the best place in varanasi to stay here.

We have just left our trip to Varanasi, and what a trip it was. The place is amazing definitely a culture shock to us. As for our accommodation we booked the Kedar Guest House due to its great reviews, and it didn't disappoint. Don't be expecting 5star luxury with chocolates on your pillows, but what you will expect is a lovely traditional guest house, located down the back streets of Varanasi, very close to the Assi Ghat (which is one of the best) and great welcoming very honest hosts!
We we're greeted with Masala tea and a wealth of knowledge about where to go and what to do during our short stay. The boat tour we booked there was very reasonable. Our room was clean, well air conditioned and even though the bed didn't look too comfy on first glance, it definitely was! We even washed our clothes there for good value and they smelled great.
Overall our stay was great value and we felt the owners were very honest and helpful.

This place made my stay in Varanasi to a warm, welcoming experience. The whole family is so cute, warm, welcoming, that it is just hard to say anything negative about this place. We took one of the better rooms, which was renovated, very clean, had hot water and AC if required. It is a simple place, very good for people who are down to earth and don't need any extra luxury. It is a short walk into small lanes a bit behind the Ghats. Roads would need some renovation sometime;). Only recommendation: Single ladies who are travelling better take an auto to get back at night as it gets quite dark - for all others: take a torch at night for the walk back to the hostel. Absolutely worth the money. The uniqueness of the place is the family here. Thanks for everything!

We've been in Varanasi few weeks ago and we've stayed at Virendra's place. It is well located near Assi Ghat, you can go anywhere walking from there. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We really have enjoyed our four nights stay there, Virendra and his family are so kind and lovely. We have spent the Holi with them and it was so awesome.
We will be visiting again Varanasi and sure it will be at Kedar Guest house!!
