What People are saying

Pleasantly surprised in many ways, disappointed in others.....

Wosheen on 13/11/2017 15:27

It's a 2 star hotel so for what it was, it was fine - I didn't expect a 4 star standard. Bearing that in mind, I was pleasantly surprised on a few things, and disappointed in others.....

Pros:
-Lovely staff on the front desk, very friendly and welcoming
-Fantastic location near Trinity College, Stephen's Green, and Grafton Street. Ideal!
-My bedroom was modern and spacious, well decorated and the bed was comfortable. It was all nicer than I expected!
-Bathroom had a nice size bathtub and powerful shower.
-Room temp was comfortable (no thermostat in the room to change it, but didn't need changing for my visit)
- Iron, ironing board, and hairdryer in the room - nice not to have to ring down for them.
-Very good value for money, particularly for the benefit of the location.

Cons:
- I stayed 2 nights (Mon & Tues) and both nights there were people loudly talking in the hallway and in their bedrooms across the hall from me, and walking about (sounded like heavy stomping, sound carries!) in the bedroom upstairs at 1am/2am so it kept waking me up. My room was located between the stairwell and a communal bathroom, so that contributed to the noise issue.
- When housekeeping staff "made up" the room the second morning they simply turned my used tea mug upside down again (with a lipstick mark left on it) and pulled up duvet without really making the bed.
- Poor overhead lighting in bedroom and not a lot of natural light coming in the window due to the location of the room.
- Couldn't "lock" the door to the room from the inside. The doorknob locks automatically and you had to just trust it was locked as there was no mechanism to lock it. I prefer the security of a deadbolt or chain inside the door, something I can manually lock myself, just for peace of mind.
- My room was located near the housekeeping room, and when I was leaving my bedroom on the final morning I noticed a member of staff had left the keys to ALL of the bedrooms on a chair in the hallway - room numbers on all of the keys - I looked around and no staff nearby. I know they have CCTV in the hotel but even still, this seemed unwise!

Would I stay again? Hard to know - the location is fantastic, particularly for where I needed to be in Dublin. If I got a quieter room on a higher floor perhaps I would!

So thankful!!

Myself and my sister booked here extremely last minute threw booking.com as our last hotel fell threw. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a woman at reception (we didn't get her name) but what a lady!! Extremely helpful, very accommodating! She went above and beyond to help us out as we were very stressed whilst not having a place to stay for the night. The hotel was brilliant, just what we were looking for and as we booked last minute we got a massive room with an upstairs and two bathrooms. The room was very cosy, had plug in heaters, lots of tea and coffee and complimentary biscuits 🙂 we only paid €80 for the night, well worth it. Would definitely stay again!! 😊😊

Great Hotel

We went here for my nieces 21st. We had the duplex with two rooms over 2 floors to accommodate 6 people. Worked out great. The location is ideal...I mean a 5 minute walk to Grafton and 2 minutes to some of the best pubs, great price, the staff were super lovely. Always had a smile. The pub was closed down but I wouldn't fault the hotel for that. The front office manager, Alex, made sure we were looked after and he was very kind. Will stay again!!

Awful hotel

Laura-Jayne A on 23/10/2017 17:43

I stayed here on a girls trip, it advertised bar/lounge restaurant. When we arrived these had been closed down. The ‘breakfast included’ was an apple, a breakfast bar, a croissant & 2 mints. During my stay I made a cup of tea, the kettle was faulty & the water poured out the side like a fountain scolding my foot. My foot started to blister I was in so much pain. The staff were not helpful, they had no first aider on site, they had no antiseptic cream, no ice, they literally had no clue. They also wanted me to sign a form to say the accident wasn’t their fault although it was a faulty kettle. I refused. The shared bathroom was very dated & dirty. We also had a complaint made against us that we were noisy laughing on a Friday night even though the hotel advertised hen/stag weekends. We came back after a nice night laughing for about 10 minutes before we went to sleep. I would never go back.

Great Value, Great Location

This hotel was clean, comfortable and in a great central location. It's value for money, and will suit if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep. It you are looking more, then this isn't the place for you, but it is a practical, no-nonsense place to stay. I got a great night's sleep and the staff were helpful and friendly.
