Quiet and calm stay
Mashal Aon 02/11/2017 01:39The area is very quiet and great for a getaway from the busy DC area. Harper's Ferry is right across the river, a short 5-minute drive. There's nothing within walking distance to this place. Abi at this place is very helpful and knowledgeable about local attractions so make sure you talk out your plans with him. He had some great ideas! Breakfast wasn't great, but still something to start your day in this peaceful place.
It is a LONG push to the top of this hill - but for me it was worth it for this bike rider.
Kenneth Gon 30/10/2017 21:10Knights Inn Harper's Ferry is a traditional style motel located high above the river but just off the C&O canal tow path. Addresses are so odd here that it is actually located in Maryland. If you choose it, sure to check a good map so you see where you need to leave the bike trail in order to get to it. But it is in my view easier on a bike traveler than the multiple steps up to the Harper's Ferry Bridge across the river. I was warmly received by the owner who personally hosed the mud off of my bike and whose aunt for a small fee ran all my muddy clothes through the washer and dryer. Warm, clean, lots of inside space, very safe feeling.
Very nice and clean place to stay.
BonnieTon 17/10/2017 22:21My husband and I recently stayed at this Motel. We normally don't stay at Knight's Inns, but this one overall got good reviews. We are glad we did. Mr. Abi, the owner/manager, was very nice and accommodating. When I told him that I was looking forward to a good soak in a tub, he looked slightly startled and said most of his rooms only had showers, but since they weren't full, he moved us to a room with a bathtub. And when I mentioned that I smelled Indian cooking and he said that his mother had cooked some for him, I said that I loved Indian food and mentioned my favorites. He then upgraded our room to a larger one with a king bed instead of two doubles, at no extra cost, since the motel only had two other guests.
The motel is small--only 20 units--but the rooms are comfortable and instead of carpeting, have laminated flooring in the sleeping area, and large tile in the bathroom and sink area--a good idea and easier to keep clean.
Breakfast was pretty good--cereals, toast, bagels and hard boiled eggs--protein, yay!
Wi-fi was pretty good.
We would stay here again in a nanosecond, if we were passing through the area.
Abi is a real treasure!
2017Getawayon 08/10/2017 23:43The hotel is average, a bit dated and rooms are dark, but it is clean and Abi at the front desk could not be more helpful. He went our of his way to help us and make us as comfortable as possible. He is this hotel's best asset.
Good for the Money
Christine Uon 25/09/2017 18:14I booked this hotel off of a discount hotel website, and it was certainly much less expensive than other hotels in the area! It met my expectations - if you're looking for a high-end place, look elsewhere, but if you understand that you are booking a budget-friendly hotel, this is a great choice! The man at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. As other reviewers have said, he showed us to our room and provided some dinner recommendations. The only drawback to the room was that the coffee maker was missing a part and therefore inoperable. Other than that, we were pleased with the room and our stay overall. I would definitely recommend this for travelers on a budget. I feel like many of the negative reviews were expecting a 5 star hotel at a 2 star price, but I think that the Knights Inn met my expectations for the cost, and I would certainly stay there again if I am in the area.
