Based on the Trip Advisor reviews, we have booked online 2 nights in this hotel on a quite short notice since we wanted to spend our last 2 nights outside Cartagena, wanting to add the beach experience to our trip. After a 20+ minute drive from town, we arrived in the little village on the beach, with Kohsamui Hotel in the middle of it. Input the atmosphere was uncomfortable, as when booking by Booking.com we paid for the green room, but when we arrived at the hotel, the owner told us there was an error on the page and that our reservation was another room completely different, much less comfortable , and although the green room was free for our entire stay, he didn't want to move us from room (in fact all the rooms were empty during our days there). The hotel itself is very rustic, 5 rooms, which have to be accessed trough a very steep stairs. The rooms are nice and simple, with only the basics, but clean. The restaurant offers delicious options and the chef and the lady who makes breakfast (who is the same waitress) are very friendly. The beach (there is no pool) consists of a little strip , right in front of the hotel, with no privacy from locals who parking their vehicles (with very loud music) right next to you... We had a nice time outside this hostel, my boyfriend and I agreed on the fact that the price/quality wasn't fair at all. By the way, for the price (110USD per room per night), the rooms are quite small for the price, and showers do not have hot water, without windows to the sea, as announced previusly and showed in the photos. For the same price, you can get amazing AirBnB apartments in Cartagena, or for a much lower price, next door, rooms with pool and same amenities ($170,000 COP for two people) or in a incredible new hostel ($ 70,000 COP) with breakfast included, pool, industrial architecture and beautiful furnishings. The other huge drawback was the thumping bass music emanating from the neighborhood stores that kept us awake this two nights. This was simply a sad stay that we never experienced before. I would not recommend this place.

very nice resort. service is very good . i am next time come to my all family memberes. nearest sea is very very attractive. my life in this hotel seeing only. i am recomment all people in this resort.

My wife and I stayed here in 2016 for 8 days and then again just 1 week ago for 8 days. This is a very pleasant and comfortable place right on the beach. There is a restaurant on the premises which serves good food and drink. The ceviche is the best we have ever had there...and it should be since the fishermen have their nets in the sea out front. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is air conditioning and a small refrigerator. There is WIFI and TV. Maria is a very welcoming host and can help you with most anything you need. The romantic city of Cartagena is a short taxi ride away. This is a perfect get away destination for sun and ocean. The water is warm and nice for swimming. Usually the breeze picks up in the afternoon to cool things down and there is a very good kitesurfing school about 250 meters down the beach. We will stay here again...you should too! : )

The Kohsamui is a beautifully decorated hotel right on the beaches of Cartagena. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed including bottled water and cold beer in the refrigerator. We only had one meal there but it was delicious. I will say it was a bit hard to find but once we did it was great. Thanks for the wonderful and friendly accomodations.

Kohsamui has charmed us. My girlfriend and I worked and traveled in Colombia for four months and this hotel is one of our dearest memories, something that we would go back to every day, given the opportunity. To find a welcoming resort in such an unfamiliar environment has been a wonderful tiny chapter. One of the most amazing aspects of this hotel is that it gives you the strange feeling of not even being on holidays, you just want to stay forever.
