Simple but price worthy budget hotel

Close to restaurants, grocery store and public transportation with breakfast included makes this hotel perfect for the budget traveller. The disadvantage is the lack of kitchenware, you might not find clean ones if you arrive late to the breakfast, and that the reception is mainly closed. The shared bathroom is fair but not luxurious, as one can expect it for this price.
Quite good hostel/hotel

I stayed there in the hostel part in 4-bed-room with other people that i did not know. I was actually very suprised by the breakfast quality that was comparing to other hostel quite rich and delicious. The rest was good but just standard.
Good place to stay - reasonably priced

Stayed for one night on cycling/camping holiday. Had 4 bed room all to my self (including bike!) on ground floor. Everything is perfectly adequate and more than satisfactory. Bed room had small fridge and flat screen TV. Kitchen/dining room was clean and well equipped. Free coffee and free WiFi is a bonus. Supermarket 100 yards away. Free breakfast was really good. Reception staff were very friendly and very helpful. City centre was 15 minute bike ride away so very convenient. Some of the other reviews of this hotel mention security issues and no staff overnight but I was not aware of either of these. Would not hesitate to recommend if all you need is simple, budget accommodation at a keen price. Will definitely use again.
No atmosphere, no staff, unreliable wifi

The good:
Very low occupancy, so I had a 6 bed dorm to myself for 3 out of the 4 nights. The rooms are warm and have a TV and small fridge, which is handy. Each bed has its own light, which was also a big plus. The free breakfast is simple but tasty. Tea and coffee were available 24 hours, and there was a microwave. Takes about 20 minutes to walk into the city, which was fine with me. There was a grocery shop nearby. Bathrooms were cleaned daily.
The bad:
Some lights weren't working in the rooms, mattresses and some of the pillows were quite thin, wifi was unreliable and completely unusable for 24 hours. No atmosphere. Felt somewhat unsafe due to a complete lack of staff at most times. Washing machines aren't available to use yourself, you have to give the washing to the staff and wait until the next day to get it back.
The ugly:
I was aware when I booked a room here that reception was only open until 6pm, so I made an effort to ensure I arrived well before this time. I got to the hostel at around 4.30pm to find that reception had been closed the entire day, and that I needed to call a mobile number in order to check in. This was no good to me, as I'm not able to call international numbers from my mobile (I'm sure plenty of travellers have this same issue). I was waiting outside in the cold for around 20 minutes before I found a guest there who spoke English and could lend me his phone. There was NO way of contacting staff members other than by phone - there wasn't even one available anywhere in the hotel for me to use. I stayed at this hotel for 4 days, and I saw reception open twice the entire time, and never after midday. Reception is NOT open from 9-6 as stated on the website!!
Lastly, this hotel had an awfully depressing vibe, like the owners were only willing to provide the bare minimum in terms of service and furnishings. Several lights, showers and lockers were in a state of disrepair. I'm sure I would have enjoyed this city much more if I didn't have to come back to this place every night.
Cheap place to stay but lack of security between 6pm and 9am

Stayed here while in Gothenburg for a conference. Had booked a dorm room but after issues with another person staying in this room I rang the hotel number (this was after check in had closed at around 10pm) they were quick in switching me rooms to a private. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was good choice at breakfast (don't think you can complain when it's free, especially when the rooms are so cheap!). I would question the security at this hotel after check-in closes at 6pm as there are no staff around, and any guest could bring anyone back with them..There was also a break in to the hotel on my first night, as a staff member told me the next day. However, I would stay again as it was a very cheap place to stay in Gothenburg with clean rooms, a 24 hour gym across the road, and a short walk to the tram/bus stop.
