Beautiful and well maintained place. One star deducted merely because did not experience their food preparation or choices so can't comment on the same. Nice rooms. An attendant came especially before our Safari to merely inform to keep air conditioning on for room to he warn on our return. This was a truly great gesture and much required comfort on our return. Overall good experience..

We stayed as an Iranian tour the rooms were old , okay i don't have problem with that but the buffet gave me an idea of the same food every day and night as if it was the exact same food , our game drive guide was awful i think he was Herman but not sure & i think he wasn't good with Iranians because of the other reviews , overall it could be better , great relaxing hotel i do recommend it , great staff , should be better

We were a group of 36, which this resort can handle expertly. The property has a business center, spa, pool, sports bar, grilling area, laundry mat and a tunnel leading out into the game reserve with a "hide" room to view the animals in the watering hole. Many animals can also be seen right off the balcony at the restaurant. Food is buffet-style with an abundance of offerings. The resort also offers a dinner and breakfast in an outdoor area in the park. The nicely appointed rooms have a deep tub and shower, a sunken living room area and a small balcony which I enjoyed very much. The fence to the game reserve was just off the balcony and it was most peaceful to sit and relax there in the afternoon and listen to all of the lovely birds. Our safari guide, Herman Loubser, was thoroughly knowledgeable of the animals and the park and he made sure we saw a variety of animals. He was full of interesting facts that I would never even think of. It was such a learning experience and will not be forgotten. Herman and the other guide were such polite young gentlemen they even lead me to the laundry mat when I was lost. The availability of the laundry mat was also much appreciated. I would highly recommend Kwa Maritane to groups, couples, families and single travelers. Oh, I also greatly appreciated the friendly porters at this hotel.

Beautiful property, spacious rooms, excellent food, and super friendly and helpful staff (they even held the bar open later a couple of nights for us) ....... all wonderful and not an exaggeration in any way!! Just stayed here and enjoyed every minute of it. Our room had the normal nice beds, clean bathroom but also had a step down sitting area and balcony view of the reserve. The TV was set on the view from the hide so if the animals came up.....you knew and could sneak down for those up close photos. But the animals also came up to the lodge and I got an amazing video of two elephants snuggling (no other word I can come up with) each other. I posted it as public on FB and was pleased that Kwa Maritane also saw it and reposted. Just such a loving scene.....
A special call-out for our Safari guide - Herman Loubser - who I also highly recommend. If you can ask for him by name - then you should! Knowledgeable about the reserve, the animals and how to find them. Easy to understand and hear! Many of my videos sound like a NAT GEO narrative so my friends and family got to share in the moment as well. One night he even saw a caracal at night as we were headed back to the lodge. If it wasn't for his keen eyesight...we would have missed it. Plus he held his light so steady that we were able to get a video....as proof!! So ask for Herman.....and dress warm in layers for the safari.....cold when dark but warm when the sun comes out! Oh - and he will even provide you blankets. I have been on safaris in six African countries - and Herman is one of the best!!

Excellent property. Rooms are spacious, food is terrific, staff is great and the Safaris out of this world. Herman was our Safari guide and provided experiences I never forget. The front desk staff took great care of us. I would recommend this resort.
