Had another lovely meal here .. all day breakfast but it was big enough to last all week .. amazing value and cooked to perfection .. also on the 2 for 10.99 menu so you can’t get better than that .. very impressed love eating here xx

Went in for lunch with a friend. I had a fillet steak sandwich, chips and a latte for £6.49 and my friend had falafel guacamole sandwich with fries and a pint of Strongbow for the same price.
Food arrived quickly and was presented well.
Table was clean and nice smoking area out the back.
Will definitely go again.
Good food, friendly staff and great atmosphere.

Following revisiting the Pied Calf nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Certainly service with a smile. Good quality " pub grub". Always plenty of it and served quickly and piping hot! Great presentation! Many thanks.
Super work lunch

I often meet friends or go for business lunches in the Pied Calf and find the service and food to be of a high standard and reasonably priced. The menu has lots of choice and there is something for everyone from light bites/small plates to huge pies and sharing platters. I usually opt for the lunchtime meal deal which consists of a sandwich or a baguette with a side and a drink for under £7. This represents excellent value but what I like the most is the speed of service as with an hour to order, eat and get back to the office, time is of the essence. Occasionally the place has been very busy but the staff have always given us an approximate waiting time so we have a choice to stay or try somewhere else. I would be happy to take friends, colleagues or customers to The Pied Calf as I know that the service and food is consistently good. Special thanks to Laura the manager who always goes the extra mile to ensure that our visits are always professionally handled no matter how large the party of diners.
Not brilliant

I am aware that this is not a former restaurant but it's price compared to quality is surprisingly poor. We went and had Sunday lunch... beef was over a tenner and consisted of 3 bits of over cooked dog ends, 5 deep fried potatoes some cold veg and a poor Yorkshire pudding. .. served with some coloured water. £5 you wouldn't complain but. The lady was pleasant if not over the top nice, offered us a free desert which as my mate pointed out if you were unhappy with the main why would you have a desert? I really wouldn't bother - there are other pubs close by that does better food. You live and learn
