Have to say,we arrive late,was no parking space at all on the tight one way trafic small road,and the owner let us park the car on his own drive way,secure and happy..
Rooms need same work,breakfast culd be better.Was ok for a stop over.

We arrived by car and was lucky to get a parking spot outside the hotel in a safe place. We decided not to move the car for the next 2 days as we would have lost that spot! We stayed 2 nights and thought the location by the ocean good & hotel was close to a bus stop. The room clean and bed comfortable. One girl at desk was very good and helpful.
The bathroom was terrible and potentially dangerous. No shower curtain and water gets everywhere. I had to put towels all over the floor! No emergency bell in bathroom. Bathroom in dire need of renovation. Breakfast was the worst I had eaten in the three months we were away and mainly biscuits and dry cakes and on the days we stayed burnt morning breads. I would not stay here again.

I only reserved this place for our party of seven as a stopover on our way north. It is a up a narrow side road where our Peugeot Boxer would barely go and once we arrived we were told we would have to park elsewhere and pay for it. The manager/proprietor was drunk - next morning he was just obnoxious. The rooms were below average with poor bathrooms and tired lumpy beds, but hey it was only overnight. The breakfast was downstairs in a subterranean room that has little charm (!) and the food was below average. The lift was slow, old and creaky as were the staff. With so many hotels to choose from around there, it was my luck to choose this one. Why then did I give it an average mark - only because I loved its proximity to the esplanade and the restaurants there.

We stayed a night at La Capannina and were given the rooftop rooms where your bedroom door litreally opens onto the sunny rooftop with gorgeous views. Walking distance to the beach, parking outside, comfortable large bed and an adequately clean bathroom, with a simple breakfast in the morning – we found this hotel to be great value for a stay over in Genoa.

If you come by train to Genova Brignole there is a bus 31 just opposite the entrance of the station to go to the Boccadasse district where the hotel is located. Buy bus tickets in newspaper kiosks. The good thing is the location as the beach is 5 minutes away and there are different dining options by foot or bus in the evening. If you go to a beach you can have lunch at the beach. If you want to go shopping take the bus 31 to Brignole Station and walk from there.
WIFI worked in the room. I don't remember if it was free or not. Rooms were clean. I don't care so much about the colour of the walls or the decoration. The irritating thing about this hotel that could be fixed quite easily is the breakfast. I must say it was the worst breakfast I had in this category of hotel in Italy. Proposed action: fresh bread, fruit juice without sugar, real coffee, warm water, tea, marmelade, cheese, mineral water and some fresh fruit. It should not be so difficult to fix. Then it is better to raise the price a few euros and serve something that is edible. In the meantime for guests that come here know that a few minutes away in Via Oreste De Gaspari there is a Carrefour Express shop open every day of the week also on Sundays.
