Booked a room and were shown a room that did not match the description, manager / owner wanted more money for the room we thought we were getting...we thought it as a miss understanding until he wanted more than the hotel asking price, then tried to scam us on the US$ exchange rate. We weren’t the only ones he did the same thing to another couple the next day...when we confronted him he told us “ say what you want on reviews, I have lots of good reviews”... kinda says it all

We had no complaints about our beautiful room at Villa Ban Lakkham. It was spacious and clean. We were welcomed warmly at check in with a delicious glass of orange juice, along with a map of all the attractions in town. This hotel is on the peninsula over looking the Nam Kahn River. It's peaceful and quiet (although there are still plenty of cars and motor bikes going by on the street, so it's not super quiet). We had an AMAZING breakfast on our own private patio every morning. The eggs are cooked perfectly and served along side a basket of croissants and baguettes, warm and fresh. We had papaya and pineapple marmalade and real butter with our breads (a real luxury in this part of the world, especially for this price on the hotel). The staff were wonderful and friendly. We just loved it here. It's a convenient walk to the main road with lots of shops and restaurants, including the fabulous night market. Our favorite restaurant happened to be right next door, Bamboo Tree. We ate there and also took a cooking class.

Stayed here three nights. Located on Nam Khan Riverside. Quiet. Close to night market and other amenities in Luang Prabang. Breakfast is quite good. Staff friendly and helpful. I thought price a little high. Prob $55per night more fair.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Had requested for a room on 1st floor while booking but it was available only at an extra charge of $10, which I thought was a bummer. Otherwise, its a quiet, centrally located, clean hotel. Its by the river, so, a great place to just come out of your room and sit on the desks reading or painting if thats your thing. Room was big enough, internet was great, bathroom was clean and well stocked with tissues and toiletries. Hot water kettle with coffee, tea, creamer shachets at your disposal. A lil library thats on offer with some books, perhaps left by earlier guests, would will come in handy if you've forgotten to bring your reading stuff. Hotel offers bicycles for ride around town. Dont forget to take the hotel card and avail a discount at the Bamboo Tree restaurant in the neighbourhood. Highly recommended, though good scope for improvement.
