Great location and excellent service

Situated within 2 minutes walk of the town, it is perfectly placed. The service was of a high standard even to printing boarding passes and giving a walk around the hotel. Breakfast was reasonable and the price was fair. Recommended.
Basic but comfortable

Stayed at La grand cordee for a long weekend skiing. Arrived after delayed flight to a rather empty looking hotel, mid afternoon so everyone on the slopes or piste as they say. After 5 minutes or so a rather bewildered looking young lady appeared and booked ourselves and another party in and gave us the keys to our room, she had very limited English and we have very limited French so that was it, keys and off you go!
Room on top floor, bit small for 2 blokes with all the gear but very clean, well appointed and very comfy single beds.
Good shower in tight bathroom, unusual to get a good shower in a budget hotel.
Good night sleep despite a few rowdy late comers, but to be expected and wasn't a problem.
Breakfast all you would need, lovely croissants, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, ham, cheese etc plus good self serve coffee machine.
Lovely lady who came and cleared around us and kept the place smart, she too had very limited English but was helpful when required and we had a nice rapport with her.
Not a lot else going on in the hotel, we didn't use the bar or any other food options as we went into town most nights to eat.
Approx 250 metres to town centre and gondola so we stashed our ski gear up at the resort in a locker with boot warmers, cost €23 for 3 nights, well worth it.
Gear hired from ski 2000 right next to gondola so no hassle, nice guys in there.
Ski area pretty good, well groomed pistes, plenty for intermediate like us and experienced skiers, less for learners, but looked like a good ski school area, with plenty of family's sledging and having fun.
Good system of lifts, etc and a couple of nice cafe restaurants up the mountain. Loads at the foot of the ski area.
Ax les thermes is a very French town so brush up on your accent and basic phrases however if we could get by anyone could!
Good amount of restaurants to choose from although Saturday night everywhere was booked up because it was 'snow gay' weekend!!! However we did find a spot in La trattoria Italian, great food and good service despite the main man getting a bit stressed at times. Would also recommend le grand chalet restaurant for authentic feel and good, well priced food.
The thermal baths are amazing, best spa I have ever been in, all natural heat with sauna, steam rooms, frigidarium, caldarium, etc, etc, etc. Brilliant, €17 for 2 hrs a bargain.
The only thing we craved for the town was a small late night opening spa like store to get supplies from, there are a couple in town but they are not open late and if you miss them you are stuffed if you need anything for the evening.
Otherwise a fab few days, met some lovely folk and had some super skiing.
Just sufficent!!

A mandatory stop over for travellers , considering the poor chance in the area.
Generally , a well mantained hotel as for cleanliness , position and basic services and big parking opportunity. Satisfactory space rooms and bathrooms ans also reasonable price. ..
Basic, clean, great location

We had a twin room at the front of the premises, and didn't notice any road noise. Very close to the heart of the town, cafes, restaurants, bars. Parking a bonus! My bed was very hard though- my husband's bed was softer. We ate in town so can't comment on food.
Good Location with parking

This hotel is clean and modern and we had amazing views from the windows. We had an unusually large bathroom which was almost as large as the room. It hasn't got very good soundproofing as we could hear the dogs next door when they got excited. Once we had parked the car in the car park it was very easy to walk everywhere. The cable car up the mountain wasn't far away and there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. The staff were very helpful regarding activities and we enjoyed the baths in town.
