did a stopover and slept there for one night. Good Food Quality and friendly hosts. Clean and well appointed rooms. Nice Garden restaurant and solid breakfast. It is located nestled above the lake and hence also the temperature was very nice coming back from a day spent at the hot lakeside.

We arrived at the end of a full day of travel and enjoyed particularly the dinner in the beautiful garden. The owners are nice and always willing to help. The place is somehow an exception from the typical hotels around Como - quiet, with well maintained garden and excellent food. I can recommend the home made pasta.

Stayed here for one night on the way to Tuscany. Room wasn't too big, same goes for the bed. Food in the restaurant is average. Main course was fine, the strawberry tiramisu was awful.
But what I really have had it with, is hotel owners who want to copy your passport and actually prefer to keep it over night, never heard of identity fraud, make me explain this after driving for over 12 hours and make a fuzz about it.
I will not stay in this hotel again.

Wonderful hotel nestled in a valley away from the crowds on Lake Como. The host and hosts (proprietors) are very warm, inviting and helpful. Comfy bed and daily service. The restaurant is excellent! I highly recommend this lodging.

First off, sorry it took me a year to post my review. My husband and I stayed in La Griglia in July last year (2015) and weren't we glad that we picked this beautiful small hotel! During our stay in Lake Como, we didn't really rate the food at all in other places except in LA GRIGLIA. We decided to have our dinner every night (we were in Como for 5 nights) in the hotel and we made the right decision (see food photos). Everything we had on the menu was excellent! During our stay, unfortunately, there was a heat wave, so our room was quite hot but beautiful nonetheless. One area of improvement though would be putting up air conditioning. This will really help especially when the weather is hot like when we were over there.
The view from our room was great (church and the lake). If we are ever in Lake Como again, we will not hesitate to stay in La Griglia again. The service was great and all the staff and owner were friendly!

"This little gem of a hotel tucked high up in the mountain in the less touristy town of Argegno was where we based ourselves while touring around the lake. The food in La Griglia, as well as the service, are surely one of the best (if not the best) in Lago di Como! Will definitely write a review on Tripadvisor for this lovely little cozy hotel. Definitely worth more STARS and worthy to be a boutique B&B. Among the best parts of our stay were: the delicious food, the wine, our cozy room, the view of the sunrise from our bedroom and dining in their cozy restaurant while watching the rain through the glass windows. Definitely romantic... "
