We had a lovely attic room which was very spacious, nicely decorated with Basque character and views towards the hills. An excellent shower room also. If I were to be picky I'd say that the service levels were a little low for a hotel which considers itself 4 star. Pretty thinly staffed and I wouldn't describe the welcome as effusive. We were also encouraged to settle up the night before we left as the following day was the hotel's day off. Not a problem and I'm sympathetic as its a family run country hotel, but maybe adjust any expectations accordingly if booking.
We ate in the dining room where the staff was charming and the food beautifully presented.

We had a delightful impression as soon as we walked in to the Hotel. The lounge area was beautifully furnished. Further down were dining tables then more dining tables on a sun patio. To the right was a 'cafe' with tables adjacent to the street.
We were in a large attic type room (named Mendi). This had a balcony overlooking the central road through the village. There were attractive beams in the room. The impression was spacious, airy and sunny. There was a separate toilet and the shower room was an extension of the sink area. There was no safe or fridge in the room.
WiFi was confined to the lounge area and still did not work properly.
We had afternoon tea on the covered sun patio. We each had delicious different gateau basque.
At supper it took a long time to be served. Sangria was sold by the glass only. The first course contained foie gras and ham which my wife asked to be excluded. The gourmet salad still arrived with the ham and foie gras. The waiter took it away and removed the 2 items. There was no substitution or increase in quantity of the other items in the salad. Breakfast was semi buffet and was adequate.

the hotel is located in a small village surrounded by beautiful landscape. It has a very nice old style of furnitures and art devices. feeling of luxury and beauty. the rooms are big, comfortable and clean. the restaurant offers good dinner for fare price. breakfast for 11 ero was elementry.
the only problem with this nice property are the many stairs one has to climb in order to reach the rooms. it is a problem for aged guests who have to climb the many stairs with out offered any help by the staff. so, mind the stairs!!

We stayed here for a couple of nights during our trip to the Basque Country, I really can't recommend it. The manageress (owner?) was most unwelcoming, to the point of rudeness. The pretentious restaurant failed to provide appetising food. And there were flies everywhere!
The good points were that the rooms were fine and the breakfast, which featured a good choice, was served by a friendly helpful lady.

Very smart , very good cooking, local specialties , Deluxe.
Very polite staff , except a middle-age lady , not smiling and not very pleasant
Restaurant to be recommended.
Nice garden where you can eat.....
