The hotel offers more for the price you pay. It has all the basic facilities and good multi cusine restaurant. Right un centre of Vasco city. Good for stay of two to three. Can provide you with transport facility or can rent a bike or car from nearby place

I am in love with place for so many years now. Long back, I was based in Vasco City and back then I used to see this place every day on my way to school. This place was luxury and the best you can get in the late 1980s ...yeh ! So, this place was aspiration was so many of us. Of-course there was one more place much better and that is what we know as Bogmolo Beach Resort.
La-Paz was the best and the only hotel in the city.
Several years later, I happened to stay here again just to relive those old memories. And with my latest experience, I must say even now, I am still love this place. The internal decor is well done (of course, its not contemporary, but it still has a beautiful old world charm). The rooms are not very huge but very comfortable. Some of the windows look out in to the main Vasco street. Two old Portuguese parks close by add to the charm. You can also spot a few old Portuguese bungalows.
Both the restaurants at La-Paz are great and but I would recommend 'Sweet & Sour'. The cuisine seems to be designed for westerners and you will definitely not find it spicy and its not Goan either. A lot of foreign tourist seem to love the the food at this place. The 'Harbor Bar' is not there anymore and I was not able to find any place for nightlife around. You can arrive early before check-in time. If you want to try nice Goan food, then you have a place called 'Anantashram' just behind the hotel. To hire a bike, you can try 'OK Travels' which is near the station square. To get to Bogmolo Beach, go to the bus station near Vasco market (walk able from La-Paz). For a nice evening do visit St Andrews church square. Also do recommend a visit to Mormugao harbour.

This is an old and prominent hotel in Vasco da Gama.Very popular among marine officers and port workers.I had to stay along with my friend due to flight reschedule.I was allotted a standard room which was below standard.Restaurant was good and breakfast was delicious.Booking in charge Ms.Elaine was very humble and helpful.

Stay at hotel is so so.The room was an old one with no renovation.Heard that they have renovated rooms which fall under premium categories , as the same is not available I was forced to stay in standard room.Food at Regency restaurant is good.
For Old time's sake !

This hotel was the gold standard for hotels in Vasco - a few decades back ! It was pitiable to see what competition and other new hotels have done to the Grand Old Lady today.
While the location is superb, the rooms are tired and dowdy. The bathrooms have seen better times. The furniture needs a thorough revamp. An old fridge is kept in the room - God knows what for - it wasn't working!
The breakfast is passable! The service is OK - old staff and waiters still hanging around having known and seen better times in the past. The swimming pool is a tad small but fine for a few stretching exercises!
The front office staff is helpful - they are quite receptive to ensuring airport and railway station drops but draw the line at a few extra hours of overstay beyond the check out timings - you may hang around outside, in the reception area all you like but the checkout time won't be stretched - even though the hotel is practically empty !
Stay for old times sake if you have to be in Vasco - be nostalgic about the past when La Paz and its restaurants "Regency" and "Sweet & Sour" were must visits when you were around Vasco and had a plane to catch !
