Hotel & Spa “La Porta Del Mare” is a beautiful boutique hotel with an amazing sea views and private stairs leading to the beach. Delicious breakfasts are served on a spacious terrace over a hypnotising sea.
Their SPA facilities are a perfect alternative for a rainy moment or if you need a relaxing massage.
Walking distance to the Tropea city center plenty of tiny shops and restaurants serving local specialities.
However, these are the Owners of the place Giuseppe, Domenico, Andrea and... La Mamma :) who make us coming back. Lovely, caring and friendly people. Thanks to them we are feeling at home.
We highly recommend this place.

This hotel has now changed name and it has been refurbished. The hotel is now called Boutique Hotel Tropea.
We were given a great room (Numero Uno) with a small balcony overlooking the sea and towards the hsitoric town (this hotel is within the historic town boundaries but feels outside from the main nosiy streets).
The street outside the hotel is restricted after 19:30 every night which meant every night it was quite and we slept really well.
The refurb has been done to a medditerean style with everything white with some blue/green colours.
The staff were sooo friendly and we felt so welcome. What a lovelly hotel to stay in when in Tropea. We will be back!

This hotel was great location for beach, not far from the old town, rooms where clean and tidy, basic but great for the price, breakfast was fantastic on the terrace overlooking the sea and the old town. Only stayed one night as we where passing through but was incredible value and Tropea was one of our favourite places on our trip through Italy as it was the most beautiful old town and very in spoilt

When I walked into the room I was shocked at how small it was. Beware of the wooden platform the mattress sit on. Bathroom was very small. Would I stay here again? Yes. The staff was very nice and carried our luggage up the stairs. It is about a 5 minute walk into the old town. The roof top terrace has beautiful view of the ocean. The European breakfast was very good, with the added touch on scrambled eggs. Having breakfast with the beautiful view will never be forgotten. Parking on the street in front of the hotel is a plus. At night we could hear the surf. WiFi was free, but did not work in our room. We enjoyed our two days at La Porta Del Mar.

Good hotel in the center of Tropea, a decent choice to stay 2~3 days in this beautiful town and enjoy its environment and the beaches.
The sea-view room was small, but comfortable enough and clean, toiletries in the bathroom were scarce (toothbrush set would be welcome, but maybe this is the standard of the competitors as well??). Quality of the sleep was good. Breakfast was on a beautiful terrace on the top floor overlooking the sea; breakfast spread was nice (although the bread was a bit hard, probably baked the day before?).
Performance of the hotel staff was very good, polite and informative about local activities. Price was not cheap, although it was already September, but there too the other hotels were not cheap either. Overall, value for money was in the average.
The great point of the hotel (apart the location) is apparently the top floor terrace, which is available basically at any time (until late night). All in all, a good place worth going back in case of a stay inside the town (resort-like hotels are available outside the town center, but then the standards, and relevant prices, are different).
