We loved room 10, spacious and great bathroom, with double balconies overlooking the garden. Evening meal and breakfast both good and space to park securely once you have understood the instructions! Eat out for the evening meal in the garden - very nice and attentive staff.

There was no air con on a very hot September night. Traffic noise continued until late but you had to open the windows. The rooms are small but comfortable. A group of us had dinner here but they turned the lights out at 10pm as we were finishing our drinks at the bar. They could have taken pity on us as the rooms were so hot to return to. Wouldn't recommend more than one night if you have to stay in Breve.

This place has seen better days. Very dark and dingy and worn out looking. Rooms are "adequate". Best to take showers early as hot water seems to deplete as day goes on.
Bedding and bathroom clean but room cramped. Very little space for storage.
Breakfast fairly basic but adequate. Had probably the worst dinner in France in their restaurant. Clearly, this place has passed its prime.

We ate in the dining room as part of a group and the meal was meant to be regional specialities. Tasteless, dry and even drowning it in tomato ketchup / sauce made no difference. The so called thick apple pie wasn't. At least the smell of the toilets did not affect our table unlike some from our group

The reviews looked good so we booked 4 nights here as part of a Harley bike tour. Very central location and safe parking. It wasn't until we got to our next stop in La Rochelle that it clicked just how well thought of La Truffe Noir is though. Talking to a local there and telling him where we had been he asked had we eaten at La Truffe, as it was the finest place to eat and stay in Brive. We had clearly chosen well.
The food was excellent, and Frederick? Was one of the most helpful and attentive members of staff we have ever come across in all of France. You couldn't stop this guys happy demeanour, a true asset to the hotel restaurant.
