What People are saying

Wonderful hotel wish I had found years ago

kevin w on 19/11/2017 19:37

Booked this hotel a bit by chance. What a wonderful surprise. We had booked a standard room, but the Kings room was available. So we upgraded. What a great room four poster bed, massive fire place, three piece suite, table and chairs, dressing table, and still plenty of room, on top of that the bath had a jacuzzi, and even a separate shower cubicle, oh I forget the TV in the wall at end of bath. There was a balcony too. Best room I have ever stayed in. The bed Was so soft, we slept like logs. Every thing was spotless too. Then we noticed the history behind the manor. This was breakfast was really good too. At the end of our stay I asked if any other rooms were available to look at. A member of staff was more than happy to help. ( all staff we always so helpful ) many other special rooms. Another bonus was that the sea is only a ten minutes walk from the manor. Will be coming back many times. Sorry such along review, but was so thrilled with our stay. Could have said much more. Many thanks. Kevin

Afternoon tea

We only went in(saturday afternoon) for tea but it was full which is always a good sign.service was efficient, polite and polished.the portions were more like what you would expect at lunch instead of afternoon tea.very good indeed and well done!

treated like a king and queen (home away from home)

From the moment we entered the manor we were very much greeted with kindness and pleasantry. Even though we arrived early on our stay, they made every effort to ensure we got our room ready promptly on our arrival. The staff are very friendly and very thorough. There wasn't a detail overlooked from what the staff had arranged on the nights of our staff from what I had ordered. When we settled into our room, it was sheer bliss. We had the kings suite, which I promise you now, you wouldn't regret staying in. A perfect four poster bed, with a unique and large antique fireplace. An amazing bath which accompanied you with a bathroom t.v. The room was picture perfect. The food served was at high standard and of great quality, something of which you can definitely say was worth every penny. The whole experience, from the staff, to the manor and its historical purpose showed its great heritage. I will definitely be staying here again. And I would highly recommend anyone to try it the once.

Superb in a MANOR of ways!
Great location, very clean, a well maintained building with its own charm and history which is cleverly displayed and makes the stay interactive. I stayed in the Master Double room which overlooked the gardens, was incredibly spacious, lots of personal touches with complimentary teas, coffees, hot chocolate, biscuits, water, bath robes/slippers and toiletries. Everything you would need for a comfortable and cosy stay. The staff are phenomenal, they make an effort to not only welcome them guests but to remember their names and needs - on our 2nd day it poured with rain and the Manager offered us his personal umbrella so we did not get soaked.

The hot breakfast options are very good and the cold buffet also has good choice, sitting in the main hall is the highlight imagining what it must have been like during the time of Lillies stay. On our 2nd morning we got the head table overlooking the garden and that made it special. Dinner was exemplary, the combination of ingredients, presentation, service and all reasonable prices for what you receive - locally there is nothing better.

The hotel is allocated approximately 10 mins walk from the train/coach station and its end up on a peaceful and green back road, as you walk around and sightsee you notice how much Langtry stands out compared to the others!!

At the bottom of the road you can catch a bus M2 to Bournemouth centre which costs approximately £2 each way and you cannot contactless on the BLUE buses. It's £4 on the yellow buses and you have to pay in cash. The bus stop on your return is called Derby Road.

If you want to venture somewhere green then at the bottom of Derby Road you can go left to Boscombe which has a lovely garden that winds down to the beach and pier (15 mins walk). Quite a nice stroll and lovely view. Lots of squirrels and exotic looking plants!!

The Oceanarium and the upper/ lower gardens are a must see in Bournemouth.

The staff at Langtry are incredibly polite, I can't fault this location and thank those who have reviewed before me to helping me find this gem!

Enjoy!!
