Loved this hotel, loved Segovia!

This hotel is in the absolute best location of an absolutely charming Spanish town. But it's not just the location which is spectacular-the hotel itself, like many in historical cities, is old and grand but the rooms are superbly decorated in classy tones and they are modern with trendy light fixtures and furnishings. Our very spacious room had a large bathroom, seating area in an alcove and king bed with fantastic views of Segovia and the mountains in the distance. Our rate of $115 (in high summer) season did not include breakfast but that was not an issue as there are a number of cafes nearby. We did pay about $15 for parking which was very convenient-we parked our car very close to the hotel (illegally, where reception told us to park) and a valet attendant parked our car and brought it back to that same spot the next afternoon-this was a perfect arrangement! There is a spectacular view from the rooftop of the hotel. I didn't think of it as a lounge, though there were chaise lounges, an outdoor shower and an indoor/ outdoor carpet up there, it still felt like we were on the roof of a building. As a very nice feature, they have bikes to lend for free. We were very happy at this perfectly located, beautifully updated, reasonably priced hotel and highly recommend it!

Because the hotel is located in a historic, pedestrian-only area where vehicles are not allowed, the hotel can be very tricky to find by car. In fact, the valet is located about 50 meters from the hotel, where cars are allowed. It is best to call the hotel and ask for the exact location of the valet (address of store next to valet) as Google maps sent us in a different direction and we ended up needing a police escort – without the sirens and lights of course – to the hotel valet.

Also, the valet drivers are very careful with cars and parking. They noticed damage to my rental car (hire) before parking it for the first time, which was just an hour or two after I picked it up from Madrid airport. They normally take photos of such damage before parking cars, so they gave me the photos as evidence to share with the rental car company. Thanks to the valet guy, I was able to avoid paying damages to the car hire.

A Jewel in Segovia's Crown....

One could not ask for a better location...slap bang in the centre of the main walkway of Segovia's Old Town...the maximum distance was to the Alcazar..15 minutes...Aquaduct ...10 Minutes...
The rooms were very clean & functional...the bathroom very modern...
But most importantly was the quality of service....Raquel was the star of the show...organised instant coffee for us, instead of the decaffeinated coffee which was on offer !! Made on fuss about changing our bookings, from 3 nights to 2...very helpful on details relating to Segovia...
Breakfast was more than adequate...kept us going for the best part of the day...
In all I would recommend Real Segovia...

Comfy and centrally located

The staff at the Real Segovia definitely deserve a five star rating. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Bea who was at the front desk when we checked in. We had had a rather challenging journey to get to Segovia and her friendly welcome and helpful advice on what to see and do was really welcome. It was also nice to be upgraded at no extra cost to a superior room! When we checked out after our three day stay the staff were again incredibly helpful in speaking to the company we had arranged our tansfer with to make sure there were no problems. The room we had was comfortable although not luxurious and the buffett breakfast adequate but certainly not sumptious. The hotel has an excellent location on the main pedestrianised road through town and is less than ten minutes walk from both the aquaduct and the cathedral. There are also wonderful views from the roof terrace. I really enjoyed our three days staying here - good value. A big thank you to the staff.

Hotel Real Segovia

I know that this hotel says it's a 4 Star, but again that appears to be the Lobby. The room we had was definitely 3 Star and that is pushing it. If you were unlucky enough to have a room on the front,then the nightclub will keep you awake until 3am.We had to turn off the airconditioner because the noise it made kept us awake. They don't have any kitchen staff, so they had to bring in a caterer in for the breakfast. Which wasn't that good, especially in the cereals and don't ask for eggs, they did have some Gluten free products. They do not have a bar but did have a machine that gave you soft drinks at a cost. However it is in a good location, walking distance to the Cathedral and the Alcazar.
