Myself and my mother stayed at latchmead on 19th and 20th September. ...from our arrival the welcome we got from paula the owner was second to none.....nothing was a problem and she was most helpful.... we wanted dinner on the first night and paola recommended a beautiful place. Our room was extremely comfortable and extremely clean.... wifi access as well...we had a bathroom to ourselves and this was lovely as well with all sorts of toiletries for use there. We slept great the two nights as it was very quiet..we had continental breakfast on the two mornings and that was very good. All in all I would highly recommend latchmead.... great from beginning to end........thank you paola !!! Maria and anna............
A true gem

Lovely rooms fully equipped. Continental breakfast plenty to choose from. Owner very friendly. Only down side was no wi-fi I gather because of building work. Some noise from planes but nothing to bad. Thank you
Very nice place to stay but a little noisy from aircraft

This is a very nice place to stay near Stansted airport and in the countryside. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast also very good and made for a good start to the day. The airport is just a short drive away so also very convenient. The only down point is the noise from planes which fly directly overhead to the runway, presumably only when the wind is blowing from the airport towards the house. At night there are very few planes that fly, so from midnight it is much quieter but for light sleepers perhaps not the most suitable.
Relaxing place

Stayed here to visit friends and family.
Stayed in one of the lodges.
Owner Paolo made me very welcome after a long journey.
My lodge door opened to a neat enclosed bit of a huge garden . There was a garden table and chairs to use , which I did , whilst reading and having a bottle of wine which I bought with me.
There is a fridge in the lodge and a few other bits and bobs which made my stay a even more pleasant one.
Breakfast was freshly cooked if you wanted it with cereals on hand to.
One of the things about staying in a lodge is that you have nobody clonking about around you .
There is a nice little pub ten minute walk away down the road or you can drive to Bishops Stortford for a bigger selection .
The Mountbatten is a nice indian restaurant if that tiggels your fancy.
I didn't really want to leave the lodge as it was so lovely. The planes flying over were not a worry for me and that was with the windows open at night.
I have stayed at the radisson blu hotel at the airport but found this far more relaxing.
Thankyou Paolo
