Great place to relax

julia74211 on 20/11/2017 19:33

We spent Sunday at the Belsfield, dinner, bed and breakfast. Spacious room with soft colours overlooking the lake. Food and service were very good and the staff were pleasant and helpful. In a great position to wander near the lake or have a bit of retail therapy in Bowness. We intend to come back for a long weekend as we were just stopping off this time. Highly recommended.

Great place for business lunches or dinners

Visited here for the first time in 4 years yesterday for a private business dinner and was absolutely amazed by the quality of the redevelopment work since the last visit.
Meal was excellent and quite simple but quality was wonderful. Service was average though and gravy arrived so late the main course was almost eaten, and waiters were somewhat mismatched in terms of dress code which, for a pretty high level guest list in most cases, seemed at odds with trying to impress. However this is a great place for major events and can only improve further I'm sure, and nothing can take away the setting overlooking Lake Windermere. Colleague stayed over and raved about his room.

Lovely :)

Visited this hotel for a bite to eat and a drink with my fiance, Fredric. Me and Fred was amazed by the beautiful building. Food was ok, bit pricey but with it being such a glorious hotel and setting it was only expected. Decided to have a few drinks at the bar. Greeted by a bar tender who goes by the name of Ceri. Lovely girl with a beautiful smile. made us 3 glorious cocktails. Fred had a few pints as Fred prefers pints. Would come again for the drinks and views. Would have to be hungry to get the Food, after all I could get a kebab down the road for a fraction of the price. Thank you to all the staff who served us at the bellsfield. Take care all.

Well designed, comfortable and with good views

Located just a short walk up hill from the lake and town but with rooms over looking the lake.

The hotel is a mixture of sea front hotel and Laura Ashley design and the very modern reception does not carry through into the rest of the hotel which is more conventional.

Food was excellent in the dining room and very good in the Bistro. The dining room meal was marred by a large and noisy table who had been celebrating a birthday all day. There was a good choice of wine.

Breakfast was self service and could have been warmer and refreshed more often on the Sunday. Monday breakfast was very much better with less pressure from numbers.

Rooms were clean, well equipped and comfortable although slightly smaller than we had anticipated for the price.

We're booked to go back so that says it all.

Excellent hotel

We have just got home after a one night stay here which was fantastic. We arrived long before check in but were asked if we would like our cream scones and prosecco then instead of later in the day ( this was part of the deal we had booked for the nights stay) we were told to sit wherever we liked and it would be brought to us. Spoilt for choice where to sit as everywhere is so lovely we chose a seat and thoroughly enjoyed coffee/tea cream scones and then prosecco a great start to the visit.
The bedroom was also beautifully decorated lovely thick quilt soft bouncy pillows and nice thick towels in the bathroom along with toiletries etc. Also it's the best shower I have encountered very powerful and consistent.
The room had plenty of storage and plug sockets, complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and water and also a proper coffee making machine for lattes etc.
A safe was in the room free of charge and bathrobes and slippers if needed were in the wardrobe.
Unfortunately we didn't have a meal in the hotel which I now regret but the breakfast was lovely plenty of choice and cooked to perfection, we also managed to get a table with a Lake view so perfect end to a perfect stay.
The staff were all pleasant and very good at their jobs the only criticism I have is that the heated towel rail in our bathroom was dusty would it put me off staying here again NO definitely not.
As for location it couldn't be any better.
