It is true, as everyone says, that the standard rooms are small. If you are considering a reservation, you may want to upgrade. However, if you are not planning to spend a lot of time in your room, the standard rooms are adequate, clean, the beds comfortable, and for bath-lovers, the bath tub is a treat. The garden is lovely. The breakfast buffet set us up for the day: excellent bread and pastries, eggs, meat, cheeses, cereal, fruit, and more. Note however, it is not included in the room price. The location to the hotel pleasant short walk from the center of town. Off-street parking is a definite plus.

With a interesting historical background, Parc des Marechaux once hosted a meeting of Napoleon and his admirals, the hotel has each room named after each one of them. The decoration of the rooms is quite tasty and the gardens are kept well groomed. Breakfast is just adequate but I haven't tasted their cuisine. A little far from city's attractions so you better off with your car. Service is friendly, pricing reasonable and ambiance makes it worth a short stay.

We were disappointed when we were checking into this hotel and requested a top sheet, as it is impossible to sleep under a hot duvet. The lady on reception advised it would cost us 5 euros as they would have to wash it. We queried this as we could do a family wash for this price. I then asked where we could buy a sheet and the lady became agitated and asked us to leave. As it was after 5 pm so she probably lost the room rate for that night, a lot more than 5 Euro. Many hotels before and the three hotels we have stayed at since have happily supplied an extra sheet without charge.

This hotel is in a lovely building, close to the town centre, with nice large open spaces downstairs, and a dining room opening onto the gardens. Our room was small, which is fine, but the bath/shower room was too compressed, with a tiny narrow bath and although there was a shower head on the taps, there was no where to fix it on the wall and no curtain. Really hard for a big person. Good wifi. Good buffet breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit and good coffee. So recommended, but if you're staying more than one night, or if you want good bathroom facilities, check out which room you get. I can't remember the number of ours.

What a pleasure to find this hotel on the internet and discover that it fits the description on arrival. Easy parking within the grounds a helpful aspect, we didn't need assistance with cases but noted that it was available if needed.
Good greeting at reception and a very nice room with elegant fittings and decor. We were amused to find each room had, not a number but a name, to reflect the history of the building.
