What People are saying
Week 31 Time Share

Have been vacationing here for a number of years through the original Brigantine Inn Time Share. Our room was fine - clean and comfortable. We are passing this time share along to family - not because of the hotel accommodations but for the extreme difficulty parking on weekends. Years ago there was never a problem. Now, since the bar and restaurant were remodeled, they have quite a following of people for the restaurant and live music at the bar, If a spot is not available on weekend evenings, the hired parking men take your car and keys creating a fully filled jammed lot. If, for some reason you need your car later, other cars have to be moved to get your our. One couple there told us they had to park several blocks away coming back to their room. This continues till the bar and restaurant close much later in the evening. Will miss this beautiful old hotel and the wonderful beach in the 'back yard'. Also, a memory of years ago, they used to have movies in the rec room for children - also vans that came to take folks into Atlantic City.
Yep -- they were they were the "good old days."
(Below they ask if parking is available --- Not sure if there is one spot for every room in the hotel). Also, not too handicap friendly) (One more thought -- I believe the elevators are antiques! Several years we've experienced the young ones in the elevators without supervision pushing the button for each floor.)
Halloween Visit

Listen to the reviews that say stay away. It might be fine for people who are looking for vintage, but my family just say it as old and creepy. It was so creepy that we were afraid to go to sleep the first night. Not a pleasant place. Very old and uncomfortable. We were not happy here. The staff tried as hard as they could. If you like old and lonely--this is your kind of place.
Hidden Fees

I had stayed there a short time ago. The overall experience was terrible. But, it was a short stay, so I just dealt with it. Now I look at my credit card and there's an additional charge for $3.99. I call and ask what it's for and am told it's a "resort fee" that I was told of before. I wasn't. I was told to check in the confirmation. The confirmation very clearly lists the price of the room, tax, and fees. Then nowhere near there, in a giant block of text about cancellation fees and things of that nature, there's a hidden line about a $3.99 fee. It's about as shady of a way to hide a fee like that.
When I asked, I was told it was for things like parking, laundry service, and wifi. I was told parking is free when I checked in, never had any intent on using their laundry service, and their wifi was so terrible that after a few minutes of trying, I gave up on using it. So, that fee was for absolutely nothing.

Love this place. Very vintage. So much character. Just gorgeous!! The staff from check-in front desk to housekeeping we see in halls to repair/custodial people have been friendly, courteous and helpful.
Beautiful beach. Two concerns and one general comment on beach hotels

In general we loved staying at Brigantine because everything is just so laid back. Now getting to the hotel. The staff at the front desk was friendly, and we didn't have any issues with parking like I have seen others have had, but we didn't come at a really busy time.
It's an older building, which I am not holding against them. What I am holding against them were the mattresses of both the main bed and the pullout. The pullout especially. My kids slept on it the first night, and I ended up sleeping on it the second night and it is horrible. The mattress on the main bed was doable but both my wife and I felt like we were sinking in to the middle.
Second, nobody came in and cleaned our room to get us new sheets or towels. Not sure if this is normal since supposedly there are people who live there? We never said anything because by the time we got back to our room we were ready to relax and go to bed. It was later at night.
Lastly, walking through the hallways to get the vending machine. I had to personally push the push carts out of the way several times. Why are they blocking the hallway?
General comment: This is the 3rd or 4th hotel on a beach that didn't seem to offer chairs for customers to sit on the beach. Hotels could easily require a deposit for beach chairs since we are from the Midwest, and I don't feel like we should be expected to check a couple chairs at the airport in order to be able to comfortably sit on the beach.
The experience here wasn't terrible, just wanting management to know.
