Located well near the motorway and in easy reach of the city. This is a modern spacious hotel with big car park. Coffee was good. Breakfast cheap, however I went I to the city to Bills for breakfast. Would stay again.

Stayed here for 1 night prior to a conference the next day. Was quite impressed by how spacious and comfortable the room was. All staff particularly those in reception and the bar/ restaurant were helpful and attentive. Internet is free provided you become a Marriott club member and that was sorted to by reception in amateur of minutes. Overall very good value for money.

I visit here regularly on business and have never even thought to post a review. This is an ideal base out of town and the rooms are well maintained - even currently being refurbished. The staff are great and particular mention to Olga at reception and Sophie in the foyer bar who always go out of their way to come and have a chat with a smile - they don’t need to do that but clearly show interest in making customers feel welcome. Great customer service, thanks.

Stayed at the Marriott for three night. Nice spacious lounge. I ran into a Wi-Fi issue in the second floor. Calling the help desk in the Philippines did not resolve this issue. My PC and Smartphone could connect. My smartphone could connect in the lounge though. I was happy when Sanna, an engaged and thoughtful Front desk assistant, knocked on my door and decided to give me a different room. Where my PC could connect to the guest Wi-Fi. (Thank you, Sanna).
I used the exercice room, the sauna and steam room to relax at the end of the day. That's was great. I wish I used it more than house.
The breakfast was great. And, in the lounge, the energetic Sophie will sure you were served on-time without a lot of wait. She was professional and always smiling.
Checking in and out was smooth.
On Sunday, I walked to downtown Leceister, a Nice walk about 7 km. I took bus no. 50 back to Fosse Park. Cost of ride was less that 3 British pounds.

The Marriott do the fundamentals well. The hotel is in a good location, good parking, good room sizes, comfortable bed, nice bath.
The details are what make a big difference to travelers like me;
Power sockets by the bed are such a necessity for phone charging, these aren't standard, in fact my room only had 2 sockets in total, neither by the bed which meant leaping across the room to disable my alarm in the morning - rude!
For those of us with special dietary requirements (gluten free in my case) eating in proves a challenge, or simply a monotonous succession of gluten free sandwiches and the same salad and fruit salad offering - painfully dull when relying on hotel catering for a number of days - come on Marriott, sort your menu out!
We ate from the bar menu on the first night, and the food was comparably expensive, and not very special, in our unfortunate instance my salad only arrived 10 minutes after my colleagues lamb burger - disappointing, especially given no apology or discount.
The gym was a plus, but felt cluttered with too much equipment in too compact a space. The horror stories shared by members regarding cleaning in the spa area, pushed that into the undesirable category.
Finally, the heating/cooling controls in the room are archaic, and the fan system noisy. I found it difficult to get the temperature right on the first night, the second probably being too exhausted to notice!
So, in conclusion, making some upgrades to cater for the modern travelers needs would upgrade this hotel from average to very good/excellent.
