The reason to write reviews is to help other travelers making informed decisions. Being a Namibian and traveling the country allot I feel tourists should get a good Idea of what they can expect when visiting our beautiful country.
If you are traveling the region where this Lodge is located please do your homework. There are MUCH better places at the same and more reasonable prices in the are.
The landscape and surrounding is breathtaking, but the finishes and design of this lodge is far inferior to the price. I am not going to ramble on about how bad the design layout and finishings are but to pay these prices and the toilet is the same plastic one I use in a temporary building site office!! Crazy to say the least.
No coffee station in your room. No aircon or big windows in the desert!! Very old menu end bland food.
Poor service. I will review one other hotel in the region for now that I visited over this weekend and more in the future. But with all the nice loges in the area, this is not a good choice and I would highly recommend spending your money on one of the other loges in the area.

Ignoring the dated decor, the hideous bathrooms, the lumpy pebbles in the shower cubicles, the shower curtains that stop 12 inches from the base of the shower so splash water everywhere, the archaic toilets, the lack of air-conditioning, the heavy doonas in rooms that were dreadfully hot all night (stone igloos in a hot arid desert ... really???) and the huge ashtray and matches in front of a large sign asking guests not to smoke, we then experienced a hideous 1970's menu at dinner at night that belied all the joys of modern cuisine.
Sadly, this property is run by the most inconsiderate, unhelpful, unfriendly people I came up on in all my time in Namibia (with the exception of the waiter in the dining room).
We had suffered a problem with our rental car the afternoon of our arrival and a new vehicle was to be delivered the next day. This was no fault of this property, but at no time in the 6 hours we waited in the hotel's lobby after breakfast, were we acknowledged, asked if we would like coffee or water, or even offered an understanding smile. All the people I am referring to are hotel management; they should be in any other industry than hospitality.
Could not wait to leave.

We stayed here based on friends' recommendations and it exceeded our expectations. We were welcomed with a cold drink and a tour of the lodge and immediately felt 'at home'. Our room was clean and comfy, and the view from the balcony was lovely. The pool area was a perfect spot to relax in the late afternoon.
We had our evening meal and the staff were so attentive and friendly. The food was the best we had all holiday. The buffet breakfast next day was more than adequate and cooked food was done to order immediately.
We wished we could have spent more time there - one night was too short!
We would definitely recommend staying at Rostock Ritz.

We used this hotel to break our journey from soussevlei to Windhoek.
It was in a great location to do this and would recommend it for this purpose.
The accommodation was disappointing having just spent 10 days in other similar priced properties, it did not compare and certainly didn’t live up to the photos on the website. The room was small and fairly basic and the terrace was not appealing to sit out on.
The food was good but we had the half board option and the choice was limited, compared to the a la Carte menu which looked very good.
The swimming pool was lovely and the pool area was very pleasant to sit round with good views and facilities.
There is a conservation area of meerkats which was fun and interesting and added to the experience of staying there.

We stayed here for two nights. The lodge is beautifully situated with views over the desert. The cabins are nice. Beds and shower wre good.
The food in the restaurant is excellent. Breakfast as well.
The service of the staff is very good.
We had two nature tours, that were both very nice. Especially the tour to the bushman paintings.
