What People are saying

Expensive and Poor Room Heating

Phillip Con 14/06/2017 02:41

Expensive, given not every room faces the Lake (be careful if you want Lake views, the Viking Area is on other side of the road). Valet parking offered for free but wasn't offered when your room is across the road.
When checking in asked price difference for lake facing rooms and was told they are very expensive but wasn't given a price or option. I believe assumption made we could not afford it.
Room was okay but impossible to get a consistent temperature in the room.
Overall disappointing.

Excellent Vacation

Spent 5 days at this wonderful spot and hated to leave. We rented a 2 bedroom condo with 2 baths, living room w/fireplace, dining area, and kitchen. There is a covered balcony that we spent each morning looking at the lake. We thought the beds were extremely comfortable. One negative: hot water doesn't last very long. We had each meal of the day. Breakfast was great served in the main dining room having the better views of the lake. Lunch was really good but is only served in the bar/lodge area. View of the lake is not so good. There is a wood deck with tables, but the wind kept us from eating outside. Dinner was in the main dining room w/great views...but very loud. We took a fishing tour, caught some Lake Trout, and had a fresh fish fry in our condo that night. This Lodge might have the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. If looking to stay in Whitefish, do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Amazing place!

Beautiful hotel, way better than I could tell from pictures. We loved everything about it. Our room was gorgeous, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was amazing. I loved the smell of campfire in the hotel.

Still The Primo Location and Worthwhile Splurge in Whitefish

MaryEllenM27on 04/06/2017 02:09

Presidents, tourists from around the world and locals stay at and visit this fabulous hotel. If I were to judge, based on the great service, wonderful accommodations and meals we have gotten, I would say that Presidents and celebrities cannot possibly be treated better than we have been.

The Lodge is located right on the shores of Whitefish Lake...the only hotel to have that beautiful location. Its restaurant, lounge and outdoor patio all overlook the lake, the marina and the swimming pool. You can rent kayaks and other boats there even if you are not guests.

The Lodge is a little away from the hustle and bustle of Whitefish's uptown shopping districe. But a very easy drive into town.

There is live music every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at the Boat Club Lounge. It is one reason we visit the hotel as often as we do...plus the restaurant and its outdoor patio has possibly the most beautiful view in the area for lunch. Dinner is expensive, but worth it for a splurge or special occasion.

Cool lodge!

It was an awesome lodge, well decorated with all the things one wants to see in a mountain lodge. Really cool looking place. We didn't enjoy the food (we had breakfast and lunch there) but this place is very close to Whitefish and there are a ton of great dining options there. We stayed in the King Suite and it was spacious, clean, and well decorated so it was disappointing that bed and pillows were not comfortable. We went there for skiing and it was a total bummer that we couldn't get a good night rest. I wish they get new mattresses and better pillows. Bathroom was clean and good size but the shower head was mounted so high and was not adjustable/movable so water was falling down at an angle that might work if you are 6 feet tall but if you are like me 5'2 you will have to stand right next to the wall across the shower head to shower. In summary, I recommend staying at this place if you are tall and sleep quality is not important or when they change mattresses and pillows. If you decide not to stay here, visit it and have a drink at a bar because it is a really cool looking lodge.
