Linda ron 03/08/2015 15:04Just returned after a week at the Lofos. Lovely hotel Anastasia was so warm and welcoming and would do anything for you :) if your used to the ritz then this hotel is not for you though set on a slight incline in the centre of Alykes has a delightful quite relaxing aura to it bed comfortable and rooms kept clean and bed linen changed on reg basis.. Not to busy and not to quite just perfect for a small family friendly hotel ideal for couples on a quick break away, just right for families with kids a 5 min walk down to the beautiful beach and if you wanted to go any further to Alykanas best time to go in late evening! Pool kept well clean and pool side area plenty of sunbeds a comfortable cushion is 1 euro per day for beds and you will defiantly need air con lol ( 49 euros for week) wish we was back already lol we went on the recommendation from reviews on here and was not disappointed !
Likely to return to the area but unlikely to return to Lofos Studios
Smangstoneon 19/09/2013 09:03Limni Keri beach is absolutely beautiful, scattered with half a dozen tavernas and a bar or two. The area is perfect for couples looking for a quiet/peaceful getaway and I have already recommended the area to friends. There is plenty of accommodation (in the shape of small apartments – it is by no stretch of the imagination a concrete jungle!) near to the beachfront and its tavernas with Lofos Studios being one of the furthest away.
The location of Lofos Studios is about 1km away from the beachfront and most of the tavernas, which is a 10-15 minute walk. Take a torch as part of the journey is along an unlit road and stray dogs are a nuisance. The reception area/office is in a separate building across the road from the accommodation – take care (especially if you have children) as the stairs leading out exit onto a main road at a blind corner/hairpin turn.
We upgraded from a standard room to a superior room for an additional 15 euros per night. However, when we arrived and I asked to view the attic rooms upstairs I was told that this was not possible as they were closed so I am unable to compare the standard to the superior room and confirm exactly what extra benefit we gained by upgrading, other than a piece of net on the wall and a picture.
Our room was pleasantly decorated and had patio doors leading to a private terrace at the front with a communal terrace to the rear providing access to all rooms. We were perhaps unlucky that our mattress had a spring poking out of it when we arrived and we ended up turning the mattress over! The bathroom is small and basic with a mixer tap shower (this is not fixed at height so you need to hose yourself down). The kitchenette is tiny and we never cooked in it but the fridge is large and can hold plenty of beer and a few snacks! The room was serviced once during our 7 night stay, which is fair for two star accommodation. The rooms have air conditioning which is great (as we often preferred to sleep with the patio doors closed to avoid the noise from the main road and stray dogs). There is no safety deposit box in the room, however, it is possible to use the safe in reception (reception is not manned so if you need to retrieve something in a hurry, tracking down the manageress somewhere on-site can be problematic).
The studios appear to be run day-to-day by a couple on-site and the manageress speaks some English. The couple are very hard working and keen to do what they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
There is a pool but no pool bar from which to purchase drinks or snacks. Although a snack bar was advertised online, we never found it during our stay.
Breakfast is either delivered to your room or served to a table next to the pool (juice, coffee, toasted sandwich – there is no menu, but you are asked what you want and they appear to do what they can to accommodate your request). There are plenty of places to purchase breakfast (full English, omelettes, toast etc) along the beachfront and we often preferred to grab a decent coffee and a pastry at a fantastic little patisserie near the beachfront.
