Traditional restaurant

This isn't some fancy modern eaterie; it probably hasn't changed much over the years. You get an authentic French menu with some specialties - several duck dishes for example. The daily specials are good value. 19CHF for a small half roast chicken with potatoes and vegetables, including soup or salad to start and bread of course. Everything was really tasty and we enjoyed it.
There really didn't seem to be any other tourists - this was a good sign. The service was prompt.

Stopped in this place by chance for lunch. We entered this time warp which does not look as if it has been updated in many decades. We were promptly given a table which should have been a tip off. We ordered the plat du jour of a half chicken, roasted potatoes and cauliflower gratin. When it arrived we were a little apprehensive as it was swimming in an oily mystery sauce. The chicken was rubbery and had a funny taste to it - probably due to being precooked to far in advance. The potatoes were overcooked and smashed also swimming in oily sauce. We could not finish any of the food on the plate... The food offered was just unpalatable- one of the worst food experiences in Geneva I've encountered in 15 years.
A fantastic view into what made Geneva proud to be Geneva

An event in the 2nd week of December not to be missed; you will "live" Geneva of1604; th costumes, the smells, even the (usually) cold December wind. Make space for L'escalade !
Worst experience in Geneva so far

Centrally located near Bel Air and Manor is the only good thing about this place. The effort put on by the waiters to create an up eat atmosphere cannot disguise how bad the food actually is. Had a plat du jour "coquelet with baked potatoes and ratatouille" preceded by a green salad and it was an utter disaster all round. Over cooked chicken that was left too long on the microwave before being served, topped with a really dodgy looking sauce on top that had died a week ago. Total disaster and way too expensive. Avoid at all costs. The worst experience in Geneva so far.
Good choice for a hearty meal...

Went as a family of five on Saturday night.
Accent is on the French "Sud Ouest" but other choices are available.
Trio de foie-gras is excellent especially the bloque..
Salads are fresh and tasty.Beware they are big..
Meat dishes were good with interesting sauces..
My cassoulet was delicious but again very big...
A good choice while in Geneva.
Very relaxed and laid back.
