My credit card disappeared while I was traveling and my credit card company will only send a replacement to a hotel or other business, but I was in a home stay. I stopped by here to see if they would take shipment of my card. Not only did they do this without charge, but the desk staff communicated among themselves so they knew who I was and took the fedex with no problem. When I return with my husband I will stay here.
Also if you want to practice your Spanish they take the time to work with you in Spanish without refusing to try as sometimes happens in tourist areas. All of them have excellent English if you either don't speak Spanish or are just tired. The service really could not be better.
After reading the other reviews, people need to understand that Uruguay is not cheap and 3rd world. You will not find both low prices and fully updated accommodations. This is in a high end area close to everything downtown and on the bus lines to everywhere.

My experience in this hotel couldn't be better, all those who work in this place are very friendly and attentive. I hope come back someday to other visit. It's near downtown and restaurants. Love this place! Muy bueno.

This hotel is very conveniently located. Some may say it is a little creepy, some could say "character" haha, rooms were old and creaky as were the bathrooms, but it was a fun stay and the staff were really helpful - front desk lent us a hairdryer, and they will make you tea and coffee etc

Rooms are small and the wifi doesn't work .so you have to sit in the lobby for wifi. Feels like a pop up accommodation.
Smell of the place is not good.
Smoke and old dusty smell.
Feels like I'm in the house of horror show.
Staff friendly but no English.

The staff were very helpful with my stay at the hotel. I wasnt able to use breakfast due to my early ferry, but the facilities were fantastic.
The room was comfortable and the bathroom was excellent. It wasnt too dark so I was able to shave with confidence.
Water was a little slow to heat up which is a bit of a South American thing I have noticed and the pillows were a bit on the soft side for me.
