After our last minute cancellation, we found our safe haven at balcones! We stayed at the suite and it was very spacious and surprisingly not so noisy considering the dates we stayed (New Years eve). Everyone was very pleasant and nice ! The breakfast was good, could be a little better and the hotel was spotless !
Cute rooftop ! Perhaps the could capitalize on this a little more !

The best part of this hotel is the location. Right in the middle of Cartagena's Old City. 5 minutes walk to Old City sights (the Wall surrounding the Old City, Plaza de los Conches(bars), Place de la Inquisition, bars and restaurants etc). A simple breakfast is included on the nice rooftop terrace. The staff are extremely helpful, but don't speak much English. The downside is the small room and tiny bathroom. The wifi was weak in my room and required I go into the hall for a strong connection.
Overall, a good choice if you are more interested in location than hotel amenities.

I would definitely recommend this hotel! This hotel is in a great location. Room is very simple but had a mini fridge, clean and comfortable. had a balcony that looked out over the street and allowed me to watch all the action from the room. Breakfast was served each day on the rooftop patio and is made to order. Although you are right in the center of old town we had no issue with noise and slept great each night.

The first days my girlfriend and I had a great time here. The staff during the day was very helpful with all of our doubts about Cartagena. Unfortunately, the last day at the hotel, the night shift attendant (Arturo), went into our room while we were out for dinner and went through our luggage. We found the hotel master keys (for the second floor) in between our clothes/luggage and we were unable to sleep the rest of the night as we felt unsafe. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone as we felt unsafe, scared, and uneasy & they violated our trust and privacy.

good price in a very safe nice location within the walled old city. a short walk to many restaurants, plazas and historic buildings. front desk was very helpful in aranging day trips. all the rooms are different sizes. we had a group of 7 people and rented 2 rooms. no hotel parking. we never rented a car...much easier and cheaper to take taxis everywhere. rooms were comfortable and clean. free breakfast on beautiful rooftop deck. breakfast included fresh juice, coffee, eggs any way you like them with ham or sausage with toast. nice view of surrounding area from rook.
