What People are saying

Chic hotel

Pandorapolly on 20/11/2017 14:50

Staying here now - arrived Saturday. Have read reviews about lifts - very easy when you pay attention - like I told my partner to. Scan the card under the reader and look at screen and select your floor number by touching screen. It will tell you which lift to use -a,b,c, d.
We are in a room - 1602 with glass window for bathroom. It’s not that bad, it’s also a double room. Compact would be the word.we are also facing the sea and have sun all day - you don’t get that at back of building. Very clean and modern. Pillows aren’t great - like bolster pillows. All right when you asleep but may need a few sherbets to help get to sleep.
Food and drink - pros and cons - I drink spirits and measures are what I call my dads measures - straight out bottle - to the imaginary line half way up glass. At times too strong for me. Branded spirits are not in all inclusive but are very cheap. Pool side food also isn’t in all inclusive.
In restaurant it’s self service buffet style.
I am a lactose intolerant vegetarian - someone has to be and I am fussy, I can get oat and soya milk at breakfast for cereals - but am struggling at lunch and evening - salad salad or soup / chips. There is nothing else catering for veggies. Very close to sea front and Mac Donald’s and Burger King, subway and shops and bars. Enjoying it so far - would come back and hope there is a better selection of good for veggies.

SMART HOTEL

My wife and I arrived for our half board stay at Hotel Port Benidorm a little disgruntled due to the long queues caused by the new automated passport control at Alicante Airport. We were disappointed to find yet another queue at the hotel check in desk. Fortunately, the reception staff were very efficient and we were soon in our allocated room, 101 on the first floor. The room was well situated for easy access to the dining room and beautifully kept pool area.

Although the air-conditioned room was a little more compact than it looked in the brochure, it was bright, tastefully decorated and immaculate. We were very impressed with the selection of English channels on the large wall mounted flat screen TV. There was a small, inbuilt fridge, kettle with tea and coffee and disposable cups. There was always hot water and fresh towels in the modern, glass bathroom, which had a good powerful hair-dryer. The only extra cost was for the safe in the room, which we didn't use.

There was always plenty sun-loungers available at the pool area. However, as seems to be normal in lots of hotels now; people seem to think that it's fine to put their towels over sun-loungers before breakfast, then leave them empty for most of the day, even though there is a polite note in the welcome pack asking guests not to reserve sun-loungers with towels. The pool snack bar is reasonably priced, for example, burger, chips and a pint 6.90€.

There was an excellent selection of tasty food in the well-managed dining room. Although, sometimes there was a small queue at some of the counters, the hardworking staff made mealtimes a pleasurable experience.

Service at the bar was friendly and efficient, prices were very reasonable for example; 5.20€ for a bottle of wine, 2.50€ for a pint of Estella lager. My wife and I went out each evening therefore I am unable to comment on the evening entertainment. There was good Wi-Fi connection throughout the hotel.

We would definitely return to this, smart well-managed hotel.

Nice clean hotel for winter sun

On arrival there was a large queue at reception as three coaches dropped people off within 10 minutes. This is not the hotels fault as its down to flight times, but they dealt with guests quickly and efficiently. We had an early flight so arrived around midday - some people were told to come back at 2 (they stored the luggage) for their room to be ready, but thankfully ours was ready (as were many others).
A gentleman showed us how to use the lifts. Its not complicated, but the most frustrating time for us was after breakfast trying to go to the pool/out of the hotel as it was very busy, but other than that we had no problems.
The room was very clean and bright, and was well cleaned every day (though sometimes not until around 2 o'clock - not an issue for us.) The hot water in the shower was plentiful and constant (unlike some hotels where if someone down the corridor flushed the loo you were scolded), and the towels were of good quality.
The food in the hotel was variable. Starters/salad bar were lovely, as were the deserts and fruit selection. The mains however were hit and miss, both in quality and in temperature. There are 3 different places to get warm food, and if you want bits from each to make your meal you have to queue 3 times, which means inevitably some food gets cold. Though some of the food wasn't that warm in the first place. Don't get me wrong, you wont go hungry, but you may end up with a plate of oddments, rather than a complete meal. The poached pears are amazing tho!
The pool area is well maintained, and we overheard someone say (who had stayed in the hotel under its previous guise) that the area had been raised and got more sun that it used to. The pool bar was still open in November when we were there which was a pleasant surprise. All the bar and waiting staff we found to be very pleasant and helpful.
We were all inclusive, though when we worked it out, as the lunch was on offer at 7 euros 50, and the drinks reasonably priced (bottle of wine on offer in dining room for under 7 euros, and pints in bar for 2 euros 50), aside from convenience I am not sure it was any better value.
Location could not be better, a stones throw from the promenade, and handy for a few bars and small shops.
Benidorm was still extremely busy in November, which I hadn't anticipated, and you couldn't walk more than a few steps down the front without having to step aside/change direction to avoid people coming toward you or overtaking people. For this reason alone I am not sure I would return, as I would not want to go in the heat of the summer, and am more used to the quieter resorts on the Costa Del Sol

Very clean n nice hotel

Johny1973 on 17/11/2017 20:25

We visited this hotel on the 2nd November for one week.
Check in was straight forward and when we were gave a room on the 7th floor once we got in our room it was spotless could not fault anything about it.
When we went to the restaurant for breakfast it was clean n all you could want for breakfast but the evening meal to me was hit n miss the first night was beef wellington but after that i thought the food was poor and tasteless but that is just my opinion.
The pool area is spotless with plenty of sun-beds any time of the day.
The price of a pint of lager was €2.50 at the pool bar but in the pubs around the hotel was €1.50.
I will stop at this hotel again without a doubt perfect location/spotless/friendly.

Second visit to Benidorm

Daisydelfonte on 17/11/2017 16:50

Stayed here for a week 4th November , first impression was wow !!! Very clean , and modern , reception staff were very friendly , The room was fine although I found a lot of sand on the sofa bed so clearly it hadn't been cleaned properly , this wasn't a problem as we weren't using it , Bar and restaurant staff were polite enough but not very friendly. The food was very average , not a massive choice and never quite hot enough . We had a loverly week away as the weather was much better than I expected , and there is plenty of cheap and cheerful bars to spend ya time in , will defiantly return to Benidorm but won't rush back to the hotel
