Booked this almost 6 months ahead and like another reviewer, the charge was processed on my credit card almost immediately. Booked a package that was to include chocolates/fruit basket in the room, facial at the spa, discount at the resort store. Someone forgot to tell the hotel about this - the spa was closed, the discount was not realized, the store opened by request only, and had to request the chocolates/fruit in the room. Nightly rate had dropped between the time I booked it and the time we arrived. When I inquired by email about a credit for the nightly room difference, I received no reply. While there, a staffer mentioned they are trying to focus on year-round versus seasonal tourism. They are not there yet. Lots of work going on while we were there. It was somewhat noisy and the grounds in need of maintenance. Staffing was obviously very lean. On the plus side, the view of the volcano was incredible and the restaurant/bar staff were awesome. We were staying at another hotel south of La Fortuna. We left after the first night because it wasn’t very kid friendly. We were able to book a room at Lost Iguana Resort and it turned out to be the best decision we made. Wow. This resort is the perfect combination of a local, eco vibe blended with amenities that are stylish, clean and comfortable. Our room (and every room on property) had a breathtaking view of the volcano. The property itself is stunning. Tons of wildlife and amazing plants and trees. Marcus was a wonderful bartender at the swim-up bar. Every person on staff is friendly, courteous, helpful and approachable. We were so sad to leave but we will absolutely be returning again.

The room clean and spacious (junior villa, 2 bed) in amazing surroundings.
Highly recommend staying here although you will need a car to come and go.
Can walk to hanging bridges in 15 mins...drive to La Fortuna in 30.

We booked here for one night as we decided to leave our other accommodation a night early for various reasons.
Were we happy we did. The welcome we received was lovely and the room (number 9) was excellent. A beautiful view of the volcano and so peaceful.
We were told at reception there was a trail within the grounds of the hotel. We decided to have a wander not really expecting much at all. Wow talk about downplaying it. We saw Toucans, coatimundis and loads of other birds. I think it's actually old growth rain forest which 2 minutes from such a high standard hotel is pretty special.
Breakfast was excellent and again the service was nice and friendly.
All this plus it was a 15 minute walk to the Mistico bridge walk
Many thanks we really enjoyed it.

I made a reservation directly through the website for a Villa Junior room. Forgetting this, I made another reservation for a Villa Junior room through Booking.com. I reached out to see about changing my original reservation by one day and they said they couldn't accommodate either reservation I had for the Villa Junior because they overbooked. For some reason even though multiple people had reservations...I with 2 reservations am the one that gets screwed. I see another reviewers reservation was completely lost. Apparently they are not very organized here. My reservation is actually not for a couple of weeks where they have agreed to put me in lesser room which I find unacceptable given my 2 reservations.
